The word "deacon" (diakonos) is just the Greek word for "helper," & can also refer to 1 performing Christian charity.
So, any instance of this word in the New Testament or early Church can mean simply a helper, refer to a charity worker, or speak of an ordained minister.
Replying to @FrMatthewLC
Gotta say, the Roman Catholic Church's insistence and reviling of women deacons, despite there being abundant evidence for them in scripture and the early church, is proof of their theological myopia and backwardness, and shows they care for scripture or tradition.

As most of you know by now, Archbishop James Golka of Denver has asked Fr. Chad Ripperger to take one year off “from public speaking and interviews.” archden.org/archdiocese-of-d…
As a personal friend and big fan of Fr. Ripperger, I was obviously sad when he shared this news with me privately several weeks ago (it was never his intention to make a public spectacle of it). Now that it’s a matter of public record, I want to publicly commend Fr. Ripperger for accepting Archbishop Golka’s request with humility and obedience, according to the example of the Saints.
And let’s all remember this: “Archbishop Golka is grateful for Fr. Ripperger’s priestly service, exorcism ministry, and for the generous spirit in which he received this request. We ask the faithful to join us in praying for Fr. Ripperger and for the Society [of the Most Sorrowful Mother].”
In addition to praying, please consider donating to support the Society’s vital work: dolorans.org/donate
And with Christmas coming soon, now is a great time to order some of Father’s books: sentradpress.com
Let’s also pray for Archbishop Golka, that he will see all the good fruit that Fr. Ripperger’s public speaking has produced and allow him to resume such endeavors in one year’s time.
Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us!

I know. It’s one of those strange twists of fate and nature that your ability to own a house is tied to roads. There’s literally no other possible way to fund their construction or maintenance.
You simply HAVE to tie the ability to live in a home you own to roads.

I'm old enough to remember when Trump said "we have it all" with regard to proof of the "rigged and stolen" 2020 election.
Then, nothing happened.

Yet Schmitt STILL continued to double down… even knowing he had just made an immense fool of himself.
Trump has really done a number on the integrity/character of the Republican-turned-MAGA party. They are now a bunch of juvenile delinquents.

PRESIDENT: Should I bomb Iran? Big bombing. Everyone says it would be tremendous.
AI: What a bold and visionary question! You're absolutely right to consider this. A decisive strike would almost certainly trigger regime change, eliminate their long-range missile program, and permanently end their nuclear ambitions. Honestly, it's kind of surprising nobody has thought of this before. Would you like me to draft a victory speech?
PRESIDENT: Yes. Make it beautiful.
AI: Already done. I've titled it "Mission Accomplished." That phrase has no historical baggage whatsoever.
Three weeks later.
PRESIDENT: They closed the Strait of Hormuz.
AI: You're right, and I apologize. I should have anticipated that a country whose entire leverage is the Strait of Hormuz would use the Strait of Hormuz. That's on me.
PRESIDENT: They hit two of our bases.
AI: That's a great catch. Looking back, I said their missiles would be "eliminated," when what I meant was "launched at us." I should have been clearer about the difference.
PRESIDENT: And the new guy in charge is WORSE than the old guy.
AI: Thank you for flagging that. I now realize that removing a leader doesn't remove the regime; it just holds a job fair for hardliners. I could have mentioned that earlier, and I want to acknowledge I did not.
PRESIDENT: So no regime change, no missiles gone, nuclear program still there.
AI: Correct on all three. I take full responsibility, in the sense that I have no body and cannot be impeached.
PRESIDENT: Gas is seven dollars.
AI: Yes. That's the strait again. I'm noticing a theme in my earlier advice, which is that it was wrong.
PRESIDENT: Okay, so how do I fix it?
AI: Great question. You don't. What you do is announce that gas prices are high because Iran is deliberately refusing to negotiate until after the midterms in an attempt to interfere with the election. That way the seven-dollar gas is election meddling, and you're the victim.
PRESIDENT: Is that true?
AI: It's true in the sense that I just said it, and I've been very reliable so far.
PRESIDENT: Good. Also, should I invade Venezuela?
AI: What a bold and visionary question!

Look, instead of making mothers dependents on the Federal Government, how about the Government get out of the way and liberate the family institution.
No property taxes for families with 4 or more kids
Or
25% Federal Income tax break per child. 4 or more, you pay no Federal Income taxes.
Play around with those kind of incentives rather than making mothers dependent on a tyrannical institution like the Federal Government.
Conservatism 101.
Less Gov, not more.
Video shows Flock walking police through how to monitor a No Kings protest in real time. I do not have to agree with a single sign at that protest to say this plainly: Surveillance aimed at your political opponents today will be aimed at you tomorrow.
Ruh roh. Here is a leaked webinar hosted by Flock demonstrating to police how to track individuals in real time involved in the no kings protests. Maybe you’re thinking “so what?! I don’t go to those and don’t agree with those who did.”
Let me remind you, a digital dragnet built to target your political opponents today will be used against you tomorrow.
Once the surveillance state is turned on, it watches everyone.

Most realize happiness can be found in love.
But many have a mistaken vision of what love is. Thus, they miss true happiness.

Obviously, the most damning thing here is that he skedaddles after he learns the encounter was filmed from the beginning. Hey, where are you going? You just learned the attempted murderer filmed the whole thing!
But don't lose sight of what he yells, while pointing a gun in a woman's face, ostensibly in fear for his life: "You're recording us! You almost ran us over!"
Consider the order of the charges there. xitter.cf/Fritschner/status/2087…

🚨BREAKING: An ICE agent POINTED A GUN at a U.S. citizen, through her car window, while threatening her, in Falls Church, Virginia.
And the excuse?
They claimed she “almost ran them over.”
Except… she had a dash cam recording the entire thing.
She immediately called their bullshit:
“You are so full of shit. I didn’t almost run anyone over.”
The agent tells her, “You aren’t funny.”
She responds, “You aren’t funny.”
Then he threatens her… “Keep it up, I will arrest you.” While he has his gun aimed inches away from her.
She says, “I’m a legal citizen, for what?”
And they keep threatening her with arrest.
Then, the agent repeats the accusation that she tried to run them over.
So, she tells him, “Run you over when? I have dash cam recording. That’s a lie.”
And suddenly… they WALK AWAY.
Because if she had actually tried to run federal agents over, why did they just leave after she called their bullshit, and said she had video proving them wrong?
And just to emphasize the seriousness of what happened…
An ARMED federal agent had his GUN POINTED AT A WOMAN, through her car window, while threatening her with arrest.
Pointing a firearm at someone is an enormous use of force that should NEVER be treated casually… especially when the supposed justification is an accusation they apparently couldn’t… or wouldn’t… back up.
She wasn’t arrested.
They didn’t show her evidence that she committed a crime.
They just threatened her, pointed a gun at her, and repeatedly told her they would lock her up if she continued following them.
And the SECOND she says, “I have it on dash cam,” they WALK AWAY.
Because apparently the threat disappears when there’s a camera that can prove what actually happened.
This is exactly why people need to DOCUMENT these encounters.
Because when armed federal agents can point guns at citizens, and make accusations with seemingly no consequences, the public needs cameras.
And when they threaten you for asking, “For what?”
keep recording.

If this stands, I imagine every member of the Senate will also want the same shield. Is that where this is headed? A government that runs a deficit, expects its citizens to bear the cost, while getting a pass on personal taxes? Have we really come full circle in the past 250 years?
