Pritchard will nearly triple his salary in 2028-29.
Boston has the former Sixth Man of the Year under contract thru at least the next 3 seasons.
Year 1 of the extension aligns with his statistical value from the 2025-26 season
Breakdown of the Payton Pritchard extension:
Existing contract
2026/27: $7.8M
2027/28: $8.3M
Extension
2028/29: $21.2M
2029/30: $22.9M (Mutual Option)
The first year of the extension is the maximum allowed (140% of the average player salary)
Pritchard will be eligible to sign another extension starting in October 2028.

Brand new Garden floor this season. But tradition is important to the Celtics, so they've once again kept the bolts -- even though they aren't functional. (The boards fit together in sort of a tongue-and-groove manner.) The floor coating fills in the bolt gap, so it's all smooth.
