If I could go back and do my college baseball recruiting all over again, I’d do just about everything differently. The only reason I even got a chance to play college baseball was because there happened to be a professional scout at a random high school game. Why was he there? Because his buddy was the coach of the opposing team. That’s it. It was completely random. And I was incredibly LUCKY. That scout eventually helped open a door for me to play junior college baseball, which ultimately led to a Division I scholarship. But think about that for a second. My entire college baseball career might not have happened if some guy hadn’t decided to go watch his buddy coach a high school baseball game. Knowing what I know now, here’s what I’d do differently. 1. I’d figure out where I actually stood as a player. I’d get my metrics tested, have honest conversations with people who understood college baseball, and figure out what level of baseball I was realistically capable of playing. 2. I’d build a list of 50–100 schools. Not just schools I’d heard of. I’d research programs at every level that fit me academically, financially, geographically, and athletically. 3. I’d contact every single one of them. I’d introduce myself, share my video and metrics, and explain why I was interested in their program. And I’d follow up. A lot. 4. I’d spend less money trying to get discovered. I’d only attend camps and showcases where coaches from schools I was genuinely interested in were going to be. And I’d make sure those coaches knew I was coming. 5. I’d build a development plan around my weaknesses. I’d figure out the 2–3 things keeping me from playing at the next level and get to work improving them. 6. I’d track EVERYTHING. Every school, every email, every conversation, every response. I’d treat recruiting like a process instead of a bunch of random events. 7. Most importantly, I’d take ownership of my recruiting. I wouldn’t wait for my high school coach, summer coach, or some random professional scout to create an opportunity for me. I’d go create those opportunities myself. I wouldn’t trade my college baseball experience for anything. Junior college was one of the best things that ever happened to me. But I got lucky. And the more I learn about college recruiting, the more I realize just how lucky I was. If I could do it all over again, I’d still work my ass off to become a better baseball player. I’d just work equally hard to make sure college coaches knew who I was.

The trend is not arguable. A lot of kids get offers pulled after being seen and exposed in Jupiter. Those kids will be announcing their decommitment on social media by thanking the school and their coaches even though they got their offer pulled. It is an incredibly great but tricky event. Most think it is the answer and it is not for a lot of players. The kids that basically take the fall off except for Jupiter are the ones that are getting incredibly poor advice. The most attended scouting and recruiting event in the country requires you to be game ready and in great shape. If you are not ready to put on a show. Do not go. Especially if you are committed or a real draft prospect. Until you sign the scholarship the school can pull the offer at any time and a lot of schools pull a lot of offers.

Free hitting advice Use the whole field. Refuse to strikeout. Walk more than you strikeout. Compete your ass off. Your approach is more important than mechanics.

The weight room will change your life. And I’m not just talking about throwing harder, hitting the ball farther, or getting faster. You’ll get stronger. But you’ll also learn how to struggle. How to be uncomfortable. How to keep going when your mind is telling you to stop. You’ll learn that progress takes time. That confidence is earned. That nobody can do the reps for you. Baseball will test you mentally more than almost any game. Failure. Pressure. Slumps. Injuries. Competition. The weight room prepares you for those moments in ways that have nothing to do with muscle. Build your body. Build your confidence. Build your mental toughness. Build habits that will follow you long after baseball is over. The weight room will change your life. 🔨⚾️

🚨 How High School Pitchers Get Recruited ⬇️ Your ERA is the LEAST important number on your recruiting profile. College coaches will tell you that to your face. They don't know your league, your competition, or who was keeping the book. Here's what they actually evaluate 🧵

I’m incredibly honored and grateful for this opportunity! East Noble baseball has meant a great deal to me since a young age growing up in the dugout as my dad coached there in the 90’s, playing here, and also spending time as an assistant. Thank you for entrusting me! #AGAPE

High School Players, note… 1% of you will go D1 .6 to NAIA 1% to D2 1.5% to D3 Juco average 1-2% depending on level. If any one of them are calling, answer the phone because in most cases you are a one percenter. RARE. Anyone one of these calls is a blessing! 🙏🏾

Happy Birthday Brayden Risedorph! Brayden was at IU from 2023-24 before being drafted by the Cubs in the 20th round of the 2024 Draft. Risedorph began in professional career with Class A Myrtle Beach and was quickly promoted to High A South Bend, allowing just 1 ER over 25.2 IP

We are officially in the dog days of summer. ☀️⚾️🥵 The heat is turned up. The schedule gets heavier. Your body starts to feel it. The players who continue to improve from here until fall usually don't have a secret, they stay disciplined. The four biggest performance separators: Sleep 😴 Nutrition 🍽️ Hydration 💧 Strength training 💪 Take care of your body now, and it'll take care of you when the games matter most.

The “boring” stuff wins ballgames: -Backing up the play -Putting the ball in play -Moving the runner -Making the routine plays -Consistent communication -Throwing strikes -Smart baserunning -Taking your walks -Getting HBP, holding your ground -Hitting a cutoff man -Hustling out everything *At some point, the “boring” tasks of ⚾️ will win extra games! And more often than not, playoff berths, seedings, playoff wins, and even championships can be determined and decided by what many would call “boring.” Turn the “boring” into the “important” and that’s how you win! #BaseballTruth
