Comic books need a new wave of Imprint publishers. Like minded creators making awesome comics together. Not social media or loose affiliations, a specific group of creators with shared intentions that set sail as a group and make cool stories until it all falls apart.

This is beautiful
The message that you should be taking away from the HBO series, if you've truly honed your media literacy to a razor edge, is that its stupidity and ingratitude to the source material is a far better refutation of the original than its actual attempts at refutation. Moore comes from a cohort of decrepit old leftists who genuinely believed in their day that they could create a better world, and that doing so justified whatever means they used. You're not meant to self-insert into Veidt, sure, but you are supposed to be a good little Nite Owl and do nothing while this imaginary revolutionary saves the stupid world from itself. Intentionally or not, Lindelof depicted exactly the world that would come of this. Rorschach isn't believed in HBO's Watchmen, except by the right-wing fringe. Veidt won. Except... His "victory" achieved nothing. The world has sunk into a bitter malaise. The peace brought about by the "alien" attacks is held to, but society didn't improve in any way. Why was it written this way? Because the Cold War was long enough ago that even aging leftists like Lindelof forgot about it. Lofty causes like "prevent nuclear annihilation" are silly and out of date now, and leftists are rather embarrassed to have ever been associated with them. After all, we never had an alien invasion in real life, we never had superheroes, and yet nuclear war never happened. Capitalism won, the right wing won, America became absolute hegemon. All the things that Moore and his cohort said would usher in Doom did not. History just trundled on. And all that's left, in the case of the Watchmen, is a collection of characters who compromised their morals and made peace with evil. For the sake of a cause we now know was totally unnecessary. Everyone Veidt killed died for nothing. There was never going to be a nuclear war. And of course there was only one character who never compromised himself. You were supposed to spite him for it, and yes, you were supposed to assume that his principles led to disaster, but now we know they didn't. Now we know he was just the only one who had a spine. Under those conditions, you are going to have a very very hard time getting people to prefer a coward who killed millions for nothing to an "edgy neckbeard" who tried to save them.

It's heavily forshadowed that Rorschach's uncompromising morality starts a nuclear exchange. Moore thinks being alive is preferable to being an edgy neckbeard. Unless you believe that stupid HBO show was canon and everyone just gets really lucky when the truth is revealed.

Sometimes a second hand store has an obscure game that is seemingly made just for me. It’s hard for me to believe that anyone wanted to play these games even during the game boy Advanced hey day. I’ll always have an affinity for Pong, Asteroids and Yar’s Revenge.

Mini review 1: Asteroids. Claustrophobic because they zoomed in, everything was so close to me. I’m sure this was a different experience on the GBA and wasn’t meant to be blown up on a widescreen TV. Great controls and still tons of fun, ominous music for the win.

No hate in the comments. AI becoming mainstream in fandom.
It's striking how much successful AI video generation comes down to skillfully tricking the model into delivering what you want.

Some memes write themselves
"Lanterns" writer Tom King on Hal Jordan's murder: "We had a big debate. It was like, 'Does Kerry Kane get punished?' Nothing could punish her more than the fact that she did that thing and she has to live with it. There's no, like, jail isn't worse than that."

“You made nothing.” I made everything. The script. Characters. Costumes. Props. Sets. Shots. Edit. VFX. ADR w real actors. A few X-buck grifters control the hive minds & somehow convinced them this is “like ordering from a menu & calling yourself a chef.” I'M THE RESTAURANT

Great story!
Amazing story behind the story. This kind of synchronicity is *extremely* rare ... but when you write a great script, it can happen.

As a person who has made professional art for over 30 years, let me tell you some hilarious shit. - I remember when artists freaked the fuck out when photoshop and digitizers came out. Digital art was going to ruin jobs for artists. (It didnt) - I was there when artists freaked the fuck out when video games made the transition from 2D games to 3D games because making 3D art, was going to ruin "art" in video games and making 3D art wasn't "real" art. (It didnt ruin art and it is real art) **Literally knew people personally that quit making games because they hated the transition to 3D. The thing with "real" artists, is that artists adapt and make art, regardless of the medium and typically don't give two flying shits about what "other" artists are doing because you should be busy just being you and creating what your heart tells you. Be it on Canvas Digital 2D/3D Side of a building Macaroni Art Sculpting Music Dance Sports ... or whatever the NEW thing is that comes along every couple of years or so. If you create - you are an artist. Period. You do you, whatever that is and let your soul be happy. Its nobody else's business what that is. The cool thing about art in any form is that its subjective and if you dont like it - don't participate. There is lots of bad art. Lots of great art and everything inbetween. Don't like peas, don't eat peas. Easy. No one needs to hear about how much you hate peas. That's your problem.

The Internet is incredible. A random thought occurred to me today. “Sunshine” by Roy Ayers Ubiquity would kill. Input “Roy Ayers sunshine 8 bit” into YouTube and was blessed. youtube.com/watch?v=xPdCO8V5…
