I truly never thought I would ever see this in my lifetime. A night of historic highs all around this country, and this is the ‘one’ thing I wanted more than anything else. Let’s go do some amazing things for Pennsylvanians. It’s time to GSD!
THIS IS OUR MOMENT, PENNSYLVANIA. 💙🎉 We reelected Josh Shapiro and Austin Davis. Kept the House blue. And FLIPPED the Pennsylvania Senate. A Democratic trifecta, powered by every voter, volunteer, and supporter who believed this was possible.

Another Election Day eve in the books! Remember to get out and vote tomorrow for Democrats up and down the ticket. And Allegheny County folks, remember to vote “Yes” on the ballot referendum. See yinz at the polls tomorrow!

Just nuclear bomb after nuclear bomb tonight man. One of the worst single days of polling I’ve ever seen for either the Dems or GOP maybe ever.
🇺🇸 ATLAS POLL | US MIDTERMS 2026 Democrats hold a 14pp lead in the generic congressional ballot for the U.S. midterms. 🔵Democratic candidate: 55.5% 🔴Republican candidate: 41.4% ⚪️Don't know: 2.3% 🟡Would not vote: 0.8%

The last thing I’ll say about these polls is that there’s something very interesting and encouraging for Democrats. NYT/Siena specifically adjusted their weighting to account for the polling errors they experienced in 2024. If they had used their 2024 weights instead of the new methodology they’ve developed, these would have been the results.

🚨NEW ARTICLE AND INTERACTIVES🚨 Polling has a problem this year. Total Recall Bias. Our findings suggest this probably causes a ~2pt error favoring Democrats in your standard generic ballot poll. To add insult to injury, many pollsters are using pretty conservative weights this year. A large non-response bias amongst Republicans must occur to counteract these observations; otherwise, we are probably on track for a VA/NJ 2025 repeat. The groups Trump made his largest gains with (younger, non-white, lower income, non-college, politically disaffected) are the most likely to lie to pollsters by saying they didn't vote for him in 2024, because they're reinforcing their upcoming vote choice. projects.statenavigate.com/f…

Now let’s get a Democratic trifecta and watch us cook statewide with many of these same initiatives! Pennsylvania can and should be a leader in housing production so everyone, everywhere in our state can afford a place to call home!
It is a great day for housing affordability in Pittsburgh. This historic legislation is the product of years of advocacy, but we are just getting started!

While it will get very little fan fair, this is easily one of the most extensive and robust pro-housing packages passed by any major city in the past 5 years. Just outstanding work by the @CoreyOConnorPA admin working to tear down red tape and make it easier to build housing!

Appreciate Julia Zenkevich with @905wesa for taking time to write up a very detailed account of the ballot question appearing on the ballot here in Allegheny County this year and for giving me a chance to talk about it. wesanews.org/politics-govern…

Absolutely insane we’re getting a public poll of this race at all, let alone a live one. @ChazNuttycombe and the folks at @StateNavigate continue to do some of the most interesting and detailed state level work in politics. Just tremendous stuff.

Allegheny County friends, I’ve had a number of folks reach out to me the past couple days asking my opinion of this ballot question. 🧵

I am ‘strongly’ in favor of this, as the current staffing limits in place currently inhibit Council Member’s ability to be a more effective check on the administration and also to be more active in their communities, helping to connect constituents with County services.

Only allowing 3-5 staff members ‘total’ for a legislative body of 15 members in a county of this size, with a budget of this size, is absurd. I’m absolutely voting YES on this and yinz should too.

Since leaving County Council, I have pretty much tuned out from the legislation passing through that body for my own sanity’s sake. But for the past few months I reentered the fray to pester @ACDistrict5 / @Dan_Grzybek and Councilman Alex Rose incessantly to get something (1/2)

on this topic before the hellscape that will be the 2027 County elections hit. Appreciate both of them taking this issue seriously and being leaders on helping to stop the spread of misinformation in our county’s electoral politics. (2/2)

The best thing we can do right now to John Fetterman is make him irrelevant. We have congressional seats and a state senate to flip in PA. US Senate seats to flip around the country. Win enough of them and he truly won’t matter. And in 2028, we’ll replace him for good.
New Fetterman WSJ story is deeply disturbing and no one with the ability seems willing to address it. My take: those of us who can’t do anything about John’s behavior — criticizing him ain’t gonna do it — should ignore him. All else is going right for PA Dems to win power in Harrisburg and DC. Let’s focus on winning and not giving him what he wants.

Our office (@RepInglis) has been working on statewide TOD legislation this year to accomplish this. It’s easily the most robust legislation I’ve ever worked on so it’s taking a bit to finish but we’re hoping to have it introduced by the end of the year.
Correct - if the state and federal government are spending millions to build and support transit infrastructure like the T, housing near these massive public investments can't be optional. It needs to be legal statewide.

This BS is why we can’t leave this up to individual communities to do this. This type of TOD should be allowed BY RIGHT at the state level. Local NIMBYs can’t bully local electeds into blocking dense housing development if they have no power to block it in the first place.
Dormont, a small suburb bordering Pittsburgh, has planned for increased density near transit for over 5 years, and now is considering a 180-unit housing project, but a new NIMBY group is spreading lies using AI. No amount of prep can head off NIMBYism publicsource.org/dormont-hou…
