Are you a womxn looking to strengthen your skills, grow your business, explore a new income-generating opportunity, or build a pathway towards greater economic independence? This is your opportunity!
Our Skills Development Programme supports womxn to access practical skills, hands-on training, and opportunities that strengthen their economic autonomy, livelihoods, and financial independence.
The programme recognises that womxn have different talents, aspirations, and economic realities. It aims to create opportunities for womxn to develop skills they can use to secure employment, start or grow businesses, generate income, and build sustainable livelihoods on their own terms.
We particularly encourage womxn who face barriers to economic opportunities and access to resources to apply. Through this initiative, we seek to support womxn to build confidence, strengthen their capacities, and access pathways towards greater economic security and self-determination.
Applicants are invited to complete this form accurately and select the skills development area that best aligns with their interests, needs, and aspirations.
Spaces are limited, and interested applicants are encouraged to apply early. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection.
We look forward to supporting womxn to build their skills, pursue their aspirations, and strengthen their economic independence.

Gender-affirming care is not elective. It is primary healthcare, and in Uganda, it does not exist. Not in the public sector. Not even in the private sector. The gap forces people to self-medicate with unregulated products, unsupervised and at serious risk.
This episode makes the clinical case, the human rights case, and the policy case. It is the most direct conversation Turn the Tables has about what a functioning health system for trans people in Uganda must look like — and how far we are from building one.

Today, We celebrate the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of rural women farmers who feed our communities, nurture the land, and protect Mother Nature.
Rural women are at the heart of sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate resilience, yet their contributions often go unrecognized. It’s time to champion their leadership, promote gender equality, and ensure they have access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need and deserve.
Let’s empower rural women, so we can nurture communities and protect our planet.

We conducted a dialogue with support from @TranzNetwork under the #2LEADFellowship, bringing stakeholders together to strengthen safety and protection for trans and gender-diverse communities in Wakiso.
We agred to explore better documentation and stronger referral pathways.
Safer online. Stronger together.
TNU completed 12 peer-led Cyber Learning Circles, recording 360 participant attendances.
The sessions covered online privacy, secure messaging, strong passwords, two-factor authentication, social-media safety, doxxing and incident planning.
In a challenging digital environment, practical knowledge can help communities communicate, organise and advocate more safely.

Trans People Are a Risk to Children
This is the claim designed to shut down every other conversation. It has no credible evidence behind it — and it causes serious harm to the trans people it targets and the children it claims to protect.
We bring data, child welfare expertise, and the lived experience of trans parents and educators to the table.

In 2019, the World Health Organisation officially removed gender incongruence from its classification of mental disorders.
Uganda's health system did not get the memo.
Trans and gender diverse people continue to be pathologised, misdiagnosed, and turned away from care that should be theirs by right, because the framework in use is decades out of date and the consequences are being paid by real people, every single day.
Episode 2 of Turn the Tables puts health professionals on the panel and asks the question the system would rather avoid: if the science has moved, why haven't we?
