A year ago, I published a long essay in @Quillette debunking the “Gaza genocide” calumny and exposing the disingenuousness of its proponents.
It was translated into French by the magazine @LePoint, as well as into Polish and German. And in my own language Dutch? Every single newspaper I pitched it to in Belgium and the Netherlands turned it down. No dissent on this question is tolerated in the Low Countries — not in the press, and certainly not at the university, where my rector declared that anyone questioning the genocide narrative was “crossing a line that should not be crossed”.
But I have finally found a way to publish at least part of the essay in Dutch: it will appear as the foreword to Genocide en Gaza, the Dutch translation of an excellent new book by political scientist and genocide expert Joël Kotek of @ULBruxelles.
Did I mention that this internationally renowned genocide scholar (fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo%C3%…) happens to agree entirely with my thesis? Are you listening, rector De Sutter (who deleted her account @pdsutter)?

I am a professor at the @UofCalifornia. I am appalled by the conduct of one of its Regents, Scott Galloway, appointed in August by Governor Newsom.
@profgalloway is one of only 26 voting Regents entrusted with governing a university system serving hundreds of thousands of students & employing tens of thousands of faculty & staff.
Twice, first on a live Pivot episode featuring Hillary Clinton & on Prof G with Fareed Zakaria, Galloway called Elon Musk a “traitor to the West.”
He invoked Julius & Ethel Rosenberg, who were executed for espionage, and declared that Musk should be held to the same standards.
He didn’t explicitly demand Musk’s execution. But invoking the deaths of two convicted spies while calling an American citizen a traitor makes the implication hard to miss.
Musk has not been convicted of treason. Indeed, “treason against the West” isn’t even an actual crime.
Now imagine UCLA alumnus @BenShapiro, appointed a UC Regent, saying the same about George Soros.
Would the Governor defend his right to serve? Would Regent leadership shrug and call it provocative commentary? Or would there be demands for resignation?
But there’s something worse here than another of Scott’s trademark podcast rants.
He sits on the Regents’ Academic & Student Affairs Committee.
The committee’s charter says it oversees student conduct, faculty conduct, academic personnel, & campus climate, among other responsibilities.
This is not some honorary title.
The Board sets university policy, controls institutional budgets, & appoints senior university leadership.
You can unsubscribe from a podcast.
A student who finds Scott’s comments morally repugnant can’t unsub from the Regents.
UC bylaws require Regents to serve the public trust with a “high degree of ethics and candor,” including as private citizens.
Professors owe students intellectual integrity. Regents bear an even greater duty: they govern institutions that teach it.
Yet a Regent serving on the committee responsible for student & faculty conduct invokes executions while labeling a fellow citizen a traitor.
What does that say to our students?
That intellectual restraint is expected of the governed but optional for those who govern?
That standards of conduct depend on whether the target of your rhetoric is politically fashionable to despise, as long as the audience applauds?
This isn’t about defending @ElonMusk. He needs no defense from me.
Nor is it about silencing Scott. As if that were possible. He’s free to express his opinions, however reckless they may be.
But freedom of speech is not freedom from accountability, and holding a university office of public trust is not an entitlement.
There is an enormous moral chasm between exercising your right to speak recklessly and demonstrating the judgment required of one of the 26 people who govern our great public university.
The UC Board of Regents isnt a podcast sponsors can boycott. It’s a public trust.
One final irony. At @NYUStern, Galloway teaches Brand Strategy, including a session on crisis management.
His own prescription for leadership in a crisis is unequivocal: acknowledge the problem, have leadership take responsibility, and “overcorrect.”
He’s praised the departure of corporate leaders as evidence of effective crisis management.
Now Galloway himself sits on the UC Board of Regents.
Will he hold himself to the standards he teaches, or does accountability apply only to other people’s institutions?
Professor lecture thyself!
I believe Scott Galloway should seriously consider whether his continued service on the Board of Regents is consistent with the ethical standards and responsibilities of that office, or whether he should resign.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss these issues with Galloway directly, including what standards we should expect of those entrusted with governing the world’s best university.
Scott, you have an open invitation to join me on @Into_Impossible for an honest conversation.

It is heartbreaking to see antisemitism in my hometown. I was born in Wyncote, near Philadelphia, and it makes me angry and ashamed to see hatred tolerated there.
The numbers show this is not an abstract concern. The Anti-Defamation League recorded 465 antisemitic incidents across Pennsylvania in 2024, an 18% increase over 2023. It tracked 189 incidents in Philadelphia and 51 in Montgomery County. These reports include harassment, vandalism, and assault; they are not all classified as crimes. (adl.org, philadelphia.adl.org)
Hateful expression harms more than its immediate target. In a 2025 survey of Jewish Americans, 79% said they were concerned about antisemitism, and 52% said they had worried about their personal safety because of their identity. Nearly half reported taking steps to increase their security. A research review also found that exposure to hate is associated with worse psychological well-being, more negative stereotypes, and less trust between groups. (philadelphia.adl.org, pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov)
It takes me back to the racism I experienced in the 1960s: signs throughout the South declaring that Black people could be refused service, along with separate “white” and “colored” signs on bathrooms and drinking fountains,”no niggers”. I remember what that hatred looked and felt like. We cannot accept it in any form, directed at any people.
I wish I could be there to stand with those protesting HATE. I am asking elected officials and other leaders in Philadelphia: Where are the clear statements condemning antisemitism? When hateful language is excused or repeated, it can make hostility seem acceptable and deepen fear and division. Leaders should speak plainly and consistently: antisemitism and hate have no place in our communities.
What the hell? We have to speak up.

Congratulations, Abdul El-Sayed. You won.
You outsmarted millions. If voters in other states had been allowed to vote for you, many more would have fallen for your charm. Keep going and maybe one day it's the presidency.
Like it or not, they will call you Senator. You beat them at their own game. Western democracy gave you representation, and you're using that power to shape your country (yes, your country) closer to your worldview. Who knows, maybe you'll even work to undo the Muslim Brotherhood designation. As an observant Muslim, why wouldn't you pursue what you believe in?
And let's be honest: you read your voters far better than they read you. Your critics put the questions about your associations in front of them. Your voters, many of them Jewish, shrugged and backed you anyway. As we say in Arabic: القانون لا يحمي المغفلين. The law doesn't protect the gullible.
The political current that cheered your victory has spent decades working patiently toward this, for the good of humanity as it sees it, and for the good of its children.
I disagree. I grew up where Islam has ruled since the 7th century. Since the eighties, the Muslim Brotherhood has promised us الإسلام هو الحل, "Islam is the solution." We lived the result, and nothing could be further from the truth. That was our experience in the Muslim world, the same world your parents chose to leave.
Maybe America will be different. Maybe here it will finally work, because the people who mistake your smug smile for a sweet one are so much easier to win over. They have no resilience. They take every smile at face value. And they have so little sense of who they are that some would trade it for anything that offers certainty.
Congratulations. The hard work paid off. While your side spent decades organizing, the people who should have been paying attention were busy inventing new identities, new grievances, new reasons to be offended, new things to smoke, new gods. Then the Palestinian cause led them straight into bed with Islamism. And for Palestine, they'll march hypnotized to the end of the earth.

MeToo "pioneer" MIT scientist who drove a professor to the brink of su*cide with false r*pe allegations after he broke up with her, told him she wanted to feel like she was "gang r*ped."
Professor David Sabatini has been awarded $6M after his former colleague, Dr. Kristin Knouse, defamed him with completely false allegations.
The MeToo community praised Knouse when she came out with her allegations.
Sabatini's entire career was destroyed by the false allegations as his colleagues all rushed to defend the woman who lied about him.
He also tried taking his own life by hanging himself, according to the Daily Mail.
Newly released texts reveal that Knouse, 38, was the one who pursued Sabatini, 58, and it wasn't until he left her for another woman that she accused him of r*pe.
After the breakup, she texted a friend that he was going to get "Weinstein-ed out of science."
"My lawyers and I are out for blood... prison is what he should get," she said.
She praised how "hopelessly defeated, beyond the violence stage," he was after his career was ruined.
But text messages show that Knouse pursued him and sent him graphic texts.
"I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and feel like I've been gang r*ped," she said in one text message.
Knouse accused Sabatini of making her feel "scared" by his advances, but evidence showed that *she* aggressively pursued him.
When he decided to pursue a different scientist, Knouse ended his career with false accusations.
Sabatini's entire life was destroyed by the woke mob. They fired him from the Whitehead Institute and MIT, and erased his name from papers.
She purposely left key evidence and text messages out when handing over information to investigators that would have proved Sabatini was innocent.
She should never see the outside of a prison cell.

Joe Rogan just passes on any ol' lie he finds in the deepest holes of the internet, even when the lie is raw hate from beginning to end.
Israel allows genetic testing. Almost all clinical tests and prenatal tests are actually covered under our national health insurance.
And you absolutely can get ancestry testing in Israel. 23AndMe specifically, which Joe mentions as outlawed in Israel, ships to Israel. Go to their international website and try it before you spread this dumb, mean lie. Also FamilyTreeDNA and some others.
And once you get your raw DNA information through 23AndMe and others, you can upload it to every other ancestry website for analysis.
In fact, Ashkenazi Jews, including Israeli Ashkenazim, are some of the most genetically studied populations on the fucking planet, you racist dolts. (Oops, just realized I'm kinda pissed.)
There are even Israeli studies by Israeli researchers of Israeli Jewish genetics. Nature has published studies using Israeli genetics databases. Here, for example: nature.com/articles/nature09…
So what does Israel actually restrict, and why is it so severe about it?
Two words: Parentage and obsessive privacy rules.
Parentage tests are as tightly controlled as heroin.
The reason is peculiar to our tradition and may be hard for outsiders to understand. In Jewish religious law, a "mamzer," someone born of the mother's adultery or from incest, lives a restricted life in some ways, including limits on who they can marry under traditional laws. And their religious status is heritable. These are ancient laws, but they matter in a basically conservative and religious society.
To protect children from ever becoming saddled with this status, parentage tests require a family court order, even if both parents consent to the test. Because the child has to be protected. Rabbinical courts have often forbidden testing almost across the board, including in divorce cases. In one case I once read about, the rabbinical court quashed the father's genetic test and demanded that he adopt the child to avoid any doubt. This was to protect the child in that particular case. The court refused to release the father from responsibility for the child and refused to examine evidence into the child's actual parentage.
Is this a weird cultural artifact born from a specific feature of the Jewish tradition? Yes. Feel free to make fun of it over in the secular West. I make fun of it myself over here. But inasmuch as old traditional rules are an unavoidable part of our big-family, tightly-knit society, I'll take this weirdness, and the never-ending effort to cleverly circumvent the damaging parts of the old traditions, over what's happening in your neck of the woods.
Is it all an attempt to hide the 2000 years we spent in Europe? No, you dolt. What the hell is wrong with you?
And then there's privacy. Pay attention to this one, because you'll wish you had some of our rules in your own country.
This is the only real limit on ancestry kits.
Your genetic information is totally, utterly private. Your employer and your insurance company can never discriminate against you based on your genetics. Even just attempting to get their hands on your genetic information is a felony. Labs and genetic counselors are closely regulated.
In the age of AI, even just the leaking of a *relative's* genetic information can hurt your employability and your insurance premiums. And it's not some crazy fear. Ancestry kit companies are bought and sold by commercial investors all the time, and they're the owners of customers' data. A data breach of 23AndMe in 2023 put the genetic information of millions on the internet. You're telling me insurance companies didn't scoop it up? Israelis are more protected from that dystopian new reality than most of the rest of you.
And importantly, the law's prohibitions are on the commercial companies, not on the customer. Giving someone your own genetic information isn't a crime. The company buying and selling it commercially within the jurisdiction of Israeli law is committing the crime.
That's why the one company that's actually hampered in any meaningful way from testing Israelis is MyHeritage, which is Israeli. To bypass Israeli jurisdiction and that massive privacy regime, Israelis just order a kit from a company in Texas.
So why do literally hundreds of millions of people believe the lie that Israel has a blanket restriction on genetic testing to avoid anyone ever finding out that Ashkenazi Jews come from Europe?
At its core, at its most basic: because they want to create the permission structure to destroy Israel. They want to declare Israel a colonialist, imperialist interloper doomed to be felled by the noble indigenous Arab of the land.
So they declare that Israel is hiding this great, terrible secret that nobody has ever hidden and nobody could ever hide -- that it doesn't actually belong here.
Never mind the fact that every study of Ashkenazi Jews shows that they have origins in the Levant -- isn't it a bit odd that this argument never grapples with the millions of Israeli Jews who spent the past 1,800 years in places like Iraq and Yemen, Jews who were expelled and fled to the last man, woman and child to Israel, and who make up half of Israeli society today?
You'd think if this was actually about Israeli "genetics," that would be part of this conversation. But it isn't about any kind of reality, it's a bigoted, genocidal fantasy. So the millions of Jews who don't even come from Europe magically disappear from this conversation.
I don't think Joe Rogan dreams of our annihilation. I think Joe picks up garbage floating in the juices at the bottom of the internet's deepest garbage bins and launders it happily for clicks.
New: Joe Rogan reveals to comedian Sam Tallent that the real reason Israel restricts DNA ancestry testing is because most of the people over there aren’t Semites and are actually just European Jews:
ROGAN: “The real Semites are the Palestinians. Benjamin Netanyahu’s family is from Poland.”
CONTEXT: Israel does have restrictions on DNA testing.
According to Israel's Ministry of Health, paternity and family-relationship DNA tests generally require a COURT ORDER, even when everyone involved consents.
And there's an especially surprising detail.
MyHeritage, an ancestry-testing company HEADQUARTERED IN ISRAEL that offers DNA kits internationally, explicitly lists ISRAEL among the countries where its consumer ancestry tests are unavailable.
But that does NOT establish Rogan's allegation about WHY these restrictions exist.
Israel's genetic-information laws address matters including consent, family relationships, privacy, and potential consequences for children.
There is no substantiated evidence that the restrictions were created to conceal the ethnic origins of Israel's Jewish population.
And when Rogan brings up Netanyahu's Polish family roots, he's referencing something with a documented historical basis.
Netanyahu's father, Benzion Netanyahu, was born in WARSAW in 1910, before his family immigrated to what was then British Mandatory Palestine.
But European family history doesn't automatically mean someone has no ancient Middle Eastern ancestry.
In fact, scientific research reveals a much more complicated story.
IMPORTANT NOTES: A major genetic study published in NATURE in 2010 found evidence connecting many Jewish diaspora communities to shared ancestral origins in the LEVANT.
And a 2020 study published in CELL examined ancient DNA from Bronze Age populations in the region.
Researchers found substantial genetic continuity between ancient Levantine populations and multiple populations living in the region today, including Jewish and Arab communities.
In other words, the evidence points to a history of shared regional ancestry, migrations, and intermixing. It’s not a simple genetic division between two populations.
Then Rogan takes the discussion even further.
He questions whether the term ANTISEMITISM should instead be called “anti-Jewish,” arguing that Palestinians have a stronger claim to being called Semites.
But there's another important historical distinction.
“Semitic” originally refers to a LANGUAGE FAMILY that includes Hebrew and Arabic, not a scientifically defined genetic race.
And the word “antisemitism,” despite its linguistic roots, has historically referred specifically to hostility or prejudice toward JEWISH PEOPLE.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Extensive genetic research shows Ashkenazi Jews have significant Levantine ancestry with Y-chromosomes tracing to the region.
Israeli law regulated domestic lab genetic testing amid privacy fears. Israelis can purchase commercial ancestry tests from abroad.

🛑While America wakes up to election results and another wave of bitter political rhetoric against Israel, something extraordinary happened on a stage in Brooklyn.
Israeli superstar Omer Adam brought two Hamas captivity survivors , Bar Kuperstein and Eliya Cohen, onstage in front of thousands of cheering fans.
Bar survived 738 days in Hamas captivity. Eliya survived 505 days.
Two young Israelis who were kidnapped by Hamas from on October 7, held hostage in Gaza, and finally brought home.
And there they were, in the heart of New York, wrapped in the Israeli flag, singing, embracing and celebrating life.
At a time when American politics is consumed by accusations against Israel, when candidates are demanding an end to military aid and the Muslim Brotherhood has become a flashpoint in the political debate, this moment tells a story that should never be forgotten.
Behind every political slogan are real people. Real families. Real suffering.
These two men survived Hamas. And now they are standing before thousands, singing with pride.
You can argue about Israel all you want. But you cannot erase October 7. You cannot erase what Hamas did to these men.
And you cannot erase the spirit of a people who refuse to be broken.
Am Yisrael Chai. 🇮🇱

If I were a parent at this school, I would IMMEDIATELY remove my child.

Dear Gaza,
Her name is Tahel Bira, from Kibbutz Be'eri, and she was just 15 years old.
Your sons left their homes on October 7th and came to her home at 10:58 AM and murdered her along with her father, Oron Bira, her mother, Yasmin, and her older sister, Tahir Bira, who was just 22 years old.
The men of Gaza also came to the home of her uncle Tal Bira and took his life with utmost cruelty.
You haven't sought atonement or asked for forgiveness, which makes sense, because there is no forgiveness or atonement for doing something like this.
