If you want to know, you test. If you want to understand, you test. Testing is actions with results. Not thoughts, not words. People need testing. If you get actions, they pass, if you get words, they fail. Most useful in deciding who values you.

This girl isn’t a Ben Gvir support btw, she was at the Ben Gvir event to criticize him from the right. It was too confusing for the Guardian so they didn’t even get into that. She’s a Feiglin voter.

A civil federal lawsuit was just filed for the negligent death of Tracy Brooks, 56, after Greenwood PD in SC picked her up at a business for allegedly being intoxicated and dumped her at a dark gas station at 1 a.m., abandoning her there. She had begged police not to leave her there and take her to a hospital or even jail instead. The cops turned off their bodycams, dumped her and left. It was 28 degrees. She had mobility problems due to an injury and needed a walker. She was alone in the dark and began slowly walking up the road on her walker on the dark highway. She walked down the road for 90 minutes on her walker until she was hit by a DUI driver around 2 a.m. and killed. She was 2 miles from her home toward which she had been slowly moving.
The sheriff refused to fire the cops. Ballenger quit and moved on. Teasley is still there. Federal civil lawsuit filed in October 2026. This page will be updated as the case evolves.
Greenwood PD in SC
Responsible officers: Anna Ballenger and Austin Teasley
Police Chief: T.J. Chaudoin.

"Extensive plagiarism"? Liverpool John Moores reviewed the thesis and cleared Jason Arday of wrongdoing?
He died nine days after resigning..after a witch hunt.
This is no moment for a victory lap.
Sorry. I'm appalled.
Very happy to have been shortlisted in the Specialist Journalism category in this year's British Journalism Awards for my investigation into Cambridge University professor Jason Arday and the extensive plagiarism in his PhD thesis #BJA2026

I grew up in Israel. I was educated there. Served it. Studied it. Taught about it. No one knows it better than I do. And there is no doubt. It was built on racism and the destruction of the Palestinian people.

Israel’s change bloc has a new worry after tonight’s exit polls. Netanyahu has no majority, but he has Trump. Ynet’s Itamar Eichner lays it out:
1) Neither bloc has 61 seats. Averaging Channels 11, 12 and 13, Eisenkot’s bloc has 52 and Netanyahu’s has 50. The Joint List and Ra’am together hold 18.
2) That leaves the decision with President Herzog. His office says the mandate will not necessarily go to the head of the largest party.
3) The change bloc fears Netanyahu will push a security escalation to force an emergency government with Eisenkot. Eisenkot has ruled it out and said he would “resign the next day” if it happened.
4) Trump has already intervened once. He posted two endorsements of Netanyahu before the vote. The second came a little more than 24 hours before polls opened.
5) People close to the White House gave one reason for the endorsements: “Netanyahu promised Trump a unity government.”
6) The opposition has a different explanation. They think the endorsement was Netanyahu’s compensation for Trump postponing a strike on Iran until after the US midterms.
7)With the blocs deadlocked, the change bloc expects Trump to step in for Netanyahu again.
Meanwhile, Herzog is still waiting for Netanyahu to answer his offer to negotiate a plea deal.
In theory Eisenkot has the advantage with more mandates. But Netanyahu has the IDF and Trump and can use war in Iran to outmaneuver the other side. He will do so.

First assault in the integrity of the elections: in Beit Shemesh, a city outside Jerusalem that used to be secular and is now ultra orthodox, locals destroyed ballot boxes and wrote “the Zionist state - rebellion against the kingdom of heaven.” Israel is eating itself.

“Just around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, an MS NOW reporter was present in the courtroom as a federal prosecutor reported a grand jury’s ‘non-concurrence’ to a federal magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. A noncurrence means a majority of the grand jurors failed to reach agreement to indict. This was the only ‘non-concurrence’ of the day.”

Ellie Chowns is right, saying zionism is racism is not antisemitic but conflating Jews with Israel is.
And conflating Jews with Israel is exactly what Tory peer Ed Vaizey did. And he did it deliberately to attack & smear political opponents.

Given that Professor Arday was cleared of any allegations of plagiarism, how thorough or extensive could your investigation have been? A very undeserved addition to the shortlist and you should do the right thing and withdraw

What’s wrong with British Media? Really?

If it was me, I would have just stayed quiet rather than blowing smoke up my own ass for being involved in coverage that hounded a man to death.
By the way, media organisations enter themselves into these awards. Crass doesn't even begin to cover it.

Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt has been made to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

Nothing reflects the incredible shift to the right in Israel more than this. Aviv Geffen was the symbol of the Israeli left. As a long-haired hippie singer, he was. On 4 November 1995, he sang “Livkot Lecha” at the Tel Aviv peace rally, minutes before Rabin was shot. The song became the anthem of the “candle youth” who mourned Rabin in the square. Ever since, he’s been the face of the secular, Tel Aviv, Rabin-memorial left.
Now he has come out in support of Naftali Bennet, a supporter of Greater Israel, more settlements, increasing the size of the IDF, and war with Turkey. There is nothing surprising about this. But it is heartbreaking to see.
