these “centrists”(indistinguishable from transphobic fanatics) keep saying the trans medicaid ban is 80/20 but is there actually any poll showing the majority of americans support what’s essentially a mass restriction on healthcare for trans people? no, but there is this.

keep in mind these examples are for youth transition too. the medicaid restriction for trans people turek is proposing is for ADULTS. he literally wants to force trans people off medication they’ve taken for years, for what? HRT isn’t even expensive.

like HRT access is the most important issue for trans people, sports bans there will be some complaints but ultimately the main fear is that they’ll lead to something like this, a restriction on the actual ability for us to medically transition, which is the main thing we need

some of you pretending to not understand why it’s a big deal that a dem put out an entire ad against trans people ‘for an 80-20 issue’ would probably get the point real quick if a progressive dem dropped an entire ad against zionists for the 80-20 dem issue of being anti-Israel

"80/20 issue" this was how gay rights looked across the US not even 50 years ago. this is how it looks around now. gay rights was an 80/20 issue in 1980 and look where it is now

detransitioners in 2026 for some reason
“I’m a castrated gay man! Stop touching me with that flag!” Detransitioner @ApostateAri finally yelled at Trantifa extremists in Portland, Ore. at the @ThornsFC game after being repeated hit for wearing an @xx_xyathletics shirt.

It’s time for PM Carney to put his Davos comments into action. Canada standing against Trump’s illegal fuel blockade of Cuba and helping send energy to Cuba is a perfect opportunity to do so.

wow a red state dem that actually has a soul when it comes to trans people, i was told this was impossible. thank you Hamilton
#KansasSenate Adam Hamilton on transgender rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself.” “I’m gonna love the trans person as well as the straight person, male or female. We have to do better than picking on small groups. What’s happened is we’ve turned a group of people into a campaign issue because it polls well.”

waking up after the con win and i’m feeling fine. they’re going to be a disastrous administration both due to their internal conflicts and corruption and their awful plan and we can take the years to reform around a leader better than Eby. we’ll come back much stronger.

some reassurance it’s not a chud win but more of Eby shitting the bed
The numbers are really confirming the narrative that this has more to do with Eby demoralizing and disengaging the progressive vote, than any kind of conservative wave. The cons got less votes in this election than the one they lost in 2024

they’re calling it the “most overly optimistic” prediction ever made
48-43 I think NDP will overperform. I think the fear vote is bigger than the polls catch

this is a pretty good summation of why their plan is horrible, it relies on growth that no one thinks is going to happen, it’s literally just stealing money from the disaster fund and calling it “savings” and tax cuts that will decimate every service we have here.
The BC Conservatives promise $11.1 billion in tax cuts despite projecting massive deficits. Businesses would receive hundreds of millions in tax exemptions, while ordinary British Columbians could face the consequences if reduced revenue leads to cuts in essential services. #bcpoli #cdnpoli Imagine your child waiting months for medical treatment because hospitals lack resources. Your child's school losing classroom support. Your rent climbing because affordable housing projects have been delayed. These are the risks families could face if the province struggles to fund public services. Even more concerning, the Conservatives plan to take $2 billion from BC's $5 billion emergency contingency fund and count it as savings. That money is set aside for unexpected costs, including wildfires, healthcare emergencies and rising demand for essential services. Imagine a wildfire forcing your family to evacuate. Firefighters need equipment, displaced residents need shelter, and communities need money to rebuild. Reducing emergency reserves doesn't make those costs disappear. It leaves the province with less money set aside to respond. Or imagine your elderly parent waiting in an overcrowded emergency room while hospitals urgently need additional funding. A smaller contingency fund leaves the government with fewer options to address unexpected pressures without borrowing or cutting elsewhere. The Conservatives also rely on economic growth far above independent forecasts. If those predictions fail, BC could collect less revenue than expected, forcing difficult choices between additional debt and reduced services. Economist Jim Stanford estimates their financial assumptions could leave BC with annual deficits exceeding $15 billion. The tax cuts would take billions out of provincial revenue while leaving less money in emergency reserves. If hospitals need more funding, housing projects fall behind or wildfires strike, British Columbians could face the consequences.
