Asians are now 43% of Harvard’s incoming class. Not even counting the 15% of students who are international admits. White numbers not reported, they seem to have stayed constant or gone down. Merit is back. Nativists will have to start a new movement to bring back DEI.

They want more immigrants bcos builders, grocery chains, banks, telecoms, literally every business assn is lobbying for it so that they can get more customers , more demand , more revenues and more jobs . It’s a circular economy that when the tap of immigrants stops , our economy chokes and everyone panics and wants to open the flood gates .

Voter turnout in Brampton was less than 29%. Pathetic. Municipal government has the highest direct impact on our daily lives: roads, water supply, sewage, garbage collection, policing, parks & recreation and bylaws. With this kind of voter apathy, we get the poor governance.

What ever the terminology , EU- Canada - India - UK etc can form JVs in space , defence , IT including alternatives to US browsers, teams etc and still continue to work with US. The concept of middle power and being a part of it is truly viable but the question everyone has is it sustainable after Carney is gone .
"Associate membership" was a silly branding exercise. Serves you right, guys.

This is a great step forward , kudos to you and @fordnation on it . We need to make progress on funding model next. For ex in Peterborough there are zero patients on wait list from 50k last year thanks to 12 new CCM/ FFS doctors brought by independent clinics but all funding support goes to FHO . Almost all the new doctors are Nigerian origin from UK on 80/20 split. You will see on 2027 a good number of them going west due to better compensation and clinics can’t sustain on much lower split. If funding can be extended to CCMs in rurals , greater service including urgent care upto 9 PM and weekends can be provided which FHOs don’t . This is the story in every major town today . Hope MOH can revise funding models to better support CCM/ FHG models to provide better coverage and services to patients and retain physicians to stay in Ontario. @nkeung

A constant sign across Tamil Nadu. most retail jobs are filled by Northeast migrants. Labour is a big issue in TN, and the more developed a state gets, the more labour issues grow. Same story in Canada, Europe, and the US. There are unemployed, unemployable, and people who don’t want to work, and often migrants take those jobs.

Tamils are most humble and lovely people. I am a north Indian worked with them in Tamil Nadu for 4 years. Language is not a problem there. Just start with few words in Tamil and you will see they try to reply you in Hindi. Respect is mutual.

ā¤ļø A heartwarming moment capturing the true spirit of India has won hearts online. A generous local man in Tamil Nadu stepped forward to assist a young yogi who is travelling across India on a bicycle. This is the real Tamil spirit and culture we have been carrying for centuries and not calling them as migrants or create North-south discriminations for political purposes. Nair mess is the true iconic , since 1961. Woodlands , bilal , buhari all have operated for decades and survived the onslaught of new restaurants . Even today Nair mess gets 100s of customers everyday . Of the new ones only geetham is rocking every location, Sangeetha RA puram , t.nagar is good, Adyar next . A2B is on the decline , HSB is over in India but the biggest India F&B brand abroad going to be hitting 100 locations soon.

Some of you have asked me many times to suggest books to read. I never recommended any seriously. But given the "war" India is going to face for the next few years, I would recommend reading at least one of the following: (1) War Without Rules (Robert Spalding, 2022) - Easiest and Shortest. (2) Unrestricted Warfare (The Original, 1999) - Good overview by China's own defense guys. (3) The Long Game (Rush Doshi, 2021) - Technical and for those really interested in Geopolitics. All three books detail China's unrestricted warfare methods. They all explain it by illustrating China's war on America mostly. But you can always imagine America as India and read the books. The methods are the same. And they are being actively applied now. If you are interested, here's an overview of some methods: Political warfare - Influence and infiltrate politics of democracies like India to weaken the country from inside. Psychological warfare: Spreading rumors, disinformation, and amplifying issues to erode the will, cohesion, and morale of the Indian government, military, and importantly general public. Drug warfare: Facilitating or profiting from the spread of illicit drugs into India to destabilize society, strain security resources, and weaken the social fabric. Cultural warfare: Promoting or amplifying cultural trends and narratives aimed at influencing Indian viewpoints in alignment with the adversary's interests. Appropriating culture while eroding the nation of its own heritage. Media warfare, Law warfare, Network warfare, Technological warfare, Fabrication warfare, Resources warfare... there are many more methods. Buy and read at least one of these books, you will know. Book (2) is legally available free on the internet to download.
