Ilhan Omar isn't even her real name, according to Fox News. Two people familiar with the federal investigation, including a law enforcement source, say her real birth name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi. That's the same family name as Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the man she married in 2009 and the one she's been accused for years of marrying even though he's her brother. This didn't come out of nowhere. Jeanine Pirro's own court filing on Wednesday refers to "Congresswoman Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar." Agents already took her DNA, her phone and her passport in the October 12 raid on her DC home, her sister has been questioned, and Pirro wants the search warrant kept sealed because they aren't finished yet. When Chris Hayes asked her this week if she was related to her ex husband, the best she could say was "not to my knowledge." A former federal immigration judge from Minnesota says that if she really has lived under an alias, every government form she ever signed could be called into question, from student aid and passports to voting records. She hasn't been charged with anything and she deserves her day in court like anyone else. But a sitting member of Congress may have built her whole public life on a name that isn't hers, and Americans deserve to know the truth. Whatever her name is, she seems to be in big trouble. LeBron James stood on the court at Madison Square Garden for his first game with the Philadelphia 76ers this week and took practice golf swings while our National Anthem played. President Trump called him out on Truth Social, saying LeBron "disrespects our Country" and "should apologize to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag." This isn't the first time, either. He did the same golf swing routine during the anthem last Christmas Day when he was still with the Lakers, and back in 2019 he was doing it while defending China. I watched the video myself, and I didn't see one hand over a heart from anyone standing near him. Men and women have given their lives for that flag so these players can make millions playing a game. Two minutes of respect is not too much to ask. Honestly, I've given up on pro basketball.
