JUST IN: The UK Sunday Times published a major report today detailing a previously secret SAS operation in Syria in 2022, which led to a murder investigation afterwards.
According to the reporting, SAS operators attempted to capture an ISIS cell leader codenamed “Bravo One" near Al-Zer. The team came under fire, pursued two individuals, and killed them after assessing an imminent threat. An initial internal review cleared the action as self-defence.
The director of Britain’s special forces later referred the soldiers to police. Several were arrested (some while still deployed in Syria/Iraq), homes were raided, and they faced a double murder investigation carrying potential life sentences.
Within about 48 hours of questioning, they were returned to operations and conducted further raids. The case dragged on for years, and the soldiers were cleared last year with the possibility of the case reopening.
The incident allegedly plunged the SAS into a crisis, with impacts on morale, retention, and accountability.

I was a captain in Afghanistan, and we would go to the headquarters in Kabul, and there would be 50 flags at the headquarters.
It was a beautiful thing to see 50 different countries contributing to the NATO alliance and the ISAF mission there.
Except there were like maybe five that contributed. It was actually closer to one or two that, by the end, were actually involved in kinetic operations.
In fact, the ISAF patch, we would joke that it meant "I Saw Americans Fighting."

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

Mike Flynn has this backwards in a way that should embarrass any American.
If a foreign army invaded Texas, occupied American cities, kidnapped children and demanded American territory, nobody would call the US president “the biggest obstacle to peace” for refusing to surrender.
Americans once called that resistance to tyranny.
What is especially revealing is that Flynn’s position reflects the very “woke” values his side claims to oppose: moral posturing, contempt for national sovereignty and the belief that the people being attacked should accommodate the aggressor to make everyone else feel virtuous.
The obstacle to peace is not the man refusing to hand his country to an invader. It is the invader.
I find this extremely weak.
