Our hearts are with the people of Nepal and the Tibet border region after this week’s catastrophic floods.
Starlink is ready to deploy kits and provide free service to support the Government of Nepal and humanitarian partners as soon as we are allowed.
When roads, bridges, and cell networks are gone, Starlink communication has proved time and time again to be vital — for rescue teams coordinating searches, medical teams treating the injured, and families trying to reach those still missing. With a power source and clear view of the sky, a Starlink kit can provide high-speed, low-latency internet within minutes of unboxing.

Tesla is using the best water treatment plants in the world for their factories. Taken out it can be another revenue stream for the company - providing residential water treatment

Starlink's Direct to Cell service generates revenue for SpaceX primarily through wholesale agreements with cellular carriers, such as T-Mobile, which integrate the satellite connectivity into their plans and pay SpaceX for the backend service.
This model allows carriers to offer enhanced coverage in remote areas, with SpaceX capturing fees while the carriers handle customer billing—for instance, T-Mobile includes it in premium plans, and non-customers can access it for an additional $10/month via AT&T or Verizon.
Making the dry electrode process work at scale, which is a major breakthrough in lithium battery production technology, was incredibly difficult.
Congratulations to the @Tesla engineering, production and supply chain teams and our strategic partner suppliers for this excellent achievement!
Tesla's new patent (US20260017503A1) on "bit-augmented arithmetic convolution" is a clever software hack to let HW3/HW4 cars mimic higher-precision AI math (e.g., 16-bit on 8-bit hardware) without upgrades. It splits data into bit planes, processes via existing MAC arrays/convolution engines, and reconstructs results. Keeping older fleets viable for FSD v14 "Lite" in Q2 2026.
On latency: It adds some overhead (2-4x ops per calc due to multi-pass processing), but optimizations like stride tricks and custom 10-bit exponents minimize delays, prioritizing efficiency over raw speed for real-time driving.
No extra hardware required. Purely software-driven, repurposing current chips to unify deployments and dodge obsolescence for millions of owners.
Smart move for Tesla's ecosystem!

Yesterday I had a conversation:
"- Tesla will 10x in the next 5-10 years
- It will not change my life"
Poor people want to stay poor...

Slight chance of Starship flight to Mars crewed by Optimus in Nov/Dec next year. A lot needs to go right for that.
More likely, first flight without humans in ~3.5 years, next flight ~5.5 years with humans.
Mars city self-sustaining in 20 to 30 years.

As long as Full Self-Driving (FSD) is tied to a specific car instead of a user's account, people will hesitate to buy it. Spending thousands on a software upgrade that could be lost if a drunk driver totals your car doesn't make sense. FSD should be a license linked to your Tesla account, so you can easily transfer it to any car you own under that account.
