I am so happy to be part of MDS. It was my first real eCom group and the place where I found a tribe. I have gotten so much help and grown so much and give back to them however I can. This time was in the form of being interviewed by Forbes.

META PERMANENT BAN âŚ..HELP!
Our business account for Bearly Art was permanently banned on Meta due to age restrictions.
Somehow personal accounts had gotten linked to the business account, and in the process of removing them when our team went to enter the start date they put in the LLC formation date not realizing it was birthday.
So the system thinks the account is underage now, and when we sent an appeal with ID of my business partner they denied it and permanently banned the account.
Weâve spent 6 figures + in advertising through meta and 7 years growing these accountsâŚâŚ
Any advice or help?! Support is saying they canât do anything and itâs permanently bannedâŚâŚ

I am hiring our very first creative strategist to come work with us at Popsmith.
As to why we're hiring, I have an amazing jack of many trades contractor who is overseeing the ad account and the creative direction of things, but we want someone who's got a complimentary approach to come in and help us systematize things and come up with great new ideas.
Why now? I always thought Popsmith might be a seasonal brand, and it still might, but our efforts of good creative has helped us find a much higher floor. In June we spent 180K in the Meta account and on pace to do that in July. These are supposed to be my slowest months. I expect us to do half our revenue in November/December alone.
We're big believers in contract to hire, so we want to end this with a full time role, but we're starting with hourly work to make sure we find a great working synergy.
If you're interested, email me :)

Today we're launching our second crowdfunding raise for Popsmith on StartEngine!
We're doing this for 3 reasons:
- We can keep our growth going (150% yoy so far)
- The adoption of our consumables has been so good that we want to do more.
- We want to expand our team

My community has $15b of yearly sales on Amazon with 800+ members.
These are small businesses. They employ real Americans and support local communities.
They do not have large margins to absorb shocks.
Every year Amazon squeezes them more and supports overseas Chinese sellers instead of local American businesses.
Now Amazon is hitting sellers with even more of a squeeze all back to back:
1.Amazon has moved many sellers to DD+7
Meaning funds are held until 7 days after delivery, not simply paid out on the old cadence.
2.Amazon just added a 3.5% fuel/logistics surcharge on fulfillment fees.
3.To top it off now Amazon Ads charges will be pulled directly from disbursements rather than floating on a credit card.
That combination matters.
Amazon already forces sellers into an environment where ads dominate visibility.
So now the same platform that pressures brands to spend more on ads is also tightening payout timing and pulling more cash out before sellers ever see it.
For a very large business, this is just a minor annoyance. But for a small business making payroll just got 50x harder.
Less cash on hand means:
less inventory
more stockouts
more debt
more strain on small teams
and ultimately a worse customer experience
This is not âsupporting small business.â
It is starving the brands that create so much of the value customers come to Amazon for.

If youâre covering Amazon, local communities hit by a hard economy and large companies trying to squeeze hardworking Americans hit me up.

Fourth year of MDS Inspire and honestly⌠Iâm feeling a bit nostalgic.
Every year we raise the bar, but this lineup genuinely has me excited and itâs rare for me to feel that way.
When a new hot topic explodes right before an event like what has happened with OpenClaw, suddenly the conversations inside MDS get sharper. Thatâs where MDS tends to shine, because the people in the room arenât theorizing, theyâre implementing. This isnât a bunch of people on YouTube trying to get you to buy some nonsense with an affiliate code. Itâs founders rolling up their sleeves and pulling all nighters.
So of course we will have some serious sessions on AI implementation in the ecom biz and then continue to cover advances in new channels like TikTok, itâs founders actively testing whatâs working in their business and prepping presentations on it just to give back to the group!
Weâre hosting at the Wynn this year, which Iâm also excited about. Anyone who has planned events in Vegas knows that this venue is king of the holy grail of the strip. The team has visited multiple times and the experience is going to match the caliber of attendees.
I also know a lot of events sound the same right now. Polished pages, similar AI-written copy, big promises. On the surface, ours might even read similarly. But the difference is in the room.
Sessions founders actually stay for.
Networking so strong people skip breaks just to keep talking.
And a highly vetted audience where we turn down far more applicants than we accept.
We donât give tickets away for free. We never sell attendee lists. We keep sponsor standards extremely high. All of that is intentional to protect the founder experience and keep the signal high and the noise low.
In a world where many events optimize for scale, we optimize for quality and economic value created per attendee.
Yes, there are bigger events in the US.
But very few with this high of a concentration of $5M, $10M, and $20M+ founders in one place talking real tactics across Amazon, DTC, TikTok, and now AI-led growth.
Super excited for the waves this one is going to create.
If youâre a serious ecom founder, I think youâll feel the difference the moment you walk in.
Looking forward to speaking at Inspire with my good friend @Weiler!

Weâre dealing with a tough situation on Amazon right now, and Iâm sharing it because other brands heading into Q4 may face the same thing.
One of our flagship products was approved for a 12-day Best Deal (11/20â12/1). We built inventory, planned our strategy, and launched exactly at the price Amazon approved - the lowest Q4 price we've ever offered.
A few days into the deal, the system suddenly changed the discount requirements with no notice. Our deal badge disappeared, and Amazon started requiring an additional ~30% off beyond the approved deal price - a price point where weâd lose money on every unit.
Weâve never sold anywhere near that price. The choice became: run the deal at a loss or lose the deal entirely.
Sales dropped immediately. And because the change happened after inventory was already shipped in, we now have a large amount of stock stuck in FBA during the most expensive storage period of the year.
While we wait in appeal limbo, every day adds:
⢠High Q4 storage fees
⢠Risk of long-term storage fees
⢠Capital tied up
⢠Lost ranking and deal momentum
The bigger concern: if the system locks in this ultra-low price as the âcorrectâ discount baseline, it may become impossible to run profitable deals this season.
Small brands canât absorb sudden algorithmic price shifts like this. We followed the process, agreed to the terms, shipped the inventory and the requirements changed mid-deal.
At this point I don't know what to do - been panicking all day and feeling kind of stuck.

Weâre seeing the same â and itâs gone way beyond 1% for us.
Amazon approved our best deal, we brought in huge Q4 inventory, and then mid-deal they suddenly required 30% more off, pushing us below our cost.
Now our inventory is stuck, Q4 storage fees are piling up, momentum is gone, and our appeal is in limbo.
This might end the business (no hyperbole) as we are hanging on by a thread already

Some times most of the time you get a brand that needs a full catalog clean up. When you have 100+ ASINS this can be cumbersome / time consuming / not fun. Making fun sheets can help this for projects
this is one for a newer project im working on - your catalog needs organization like your ads needs organization
