Banning social media for under-16s is the perfect excuse governments need to roll out digital ID for all adults. ‘Prove you’re not a kid’ quickly becomes ‘show your papers’ online. Australia, UK & others leading the way—don’t let SA fall for it. #ResistDigitalID

Outbreak? What outbreak? 💧
833 people, including 328 kids were sick due to contaminated municipal water in #Bronkhorstspruit.
Yet @DWS_RSA minister Majodina insists there is no outbreak because nobody has died!

With the 4 November 2026 local elections a week away, the law gives the IEC up to 7 days to declare the final results after voting closes.
Do you expect a free and fair election under these conditions?
11%Yes, it will be fine

79 votes • Final resultsSuddenly the telemetry stem that monitors water levels at the Garsfontein reservoir is offline — and the City is not allowing the DA access to the site.
This is the same reservoir that had a major pipe burst days ago, after which large parts of Pretoria East were left with dry taps or restrictions. The City continues to blame “high consumption,” while Tshwane’s non-revenue water losses sit near 40%.
If the system that is supposed to show how much water is actually in the reservoir is “offline,” and opposition councillors can’t verify the levels on site, residents are left guessing. Transparency, not excuses. #TshwaneWaterCrisis #MoyaMustGo
We are without water in Tshwane. The City has failed basic service delivery — contaminated water has already sickened hundreds (mostly children), infrastructure is collapsing, and residents are left relying on tankers or nothing at all.
Enough is enough.
Is anyone organising marches or mass action against the City of Tshwane? Legal action must be explored (class action, SAHRC, Public Protector, criminal cases).
Who is coordinating? Reply with details. #TshwaneWaterCrisis #CityOfTshwane

It's time for City Engineers and Scientists to take over and address the problems. The water treatment plants and other electrical facilities should be under constant security and surveillance. These must be cleaned and maintained in the best possible condition.

In a functioning democracy you count the votes and announce the results.
No unexplained delays. No drama.
After 30+ years, the sudden need for “extra time” makes you wonder who’s really controlling the process. 🤔
🚨🚨 BREAKING NEWS!!!
The IEC reportedly says election results will only be announced 7 DAYS AFTER THE ELECTIONS! 😳🇿🇦
SEVEN WHOLE DAYS to announce the results?
Are South Africans really going to sit back and accept this without questioning it?
What exactly is going to happen during those 7 days?
South Africans deserve transparency and answers!
What's your take on this? 👀🔥

One year ago, I wrote this article warning that Bronkhorstspruit residents were being forced to drink muddy, potentially unsafe water while still being billed for it. I even reached out to the sitting Mayor of Tshwane @nasiphim to raise the urgency of the crisis. If this water crisis is not dealt with, it will cost innocent lives.

Nasiphi Moya, leave @CilliersB alone. Your administration pumped unchlorinated, sewage contaminated water into Bronkhorstspruit taps for three weeks, made 408 people (mostly small children) sick, and never warned residents. That is the story. Not some phantom "cholera scare."
Brink and the DA raised the plant's capacity collapse, the chlorine failure, and the public health risk based on whistleblowers and available data while you were still spinning. The joint statement now confirms exactly what he flagged: no chlorination from 24 September to 14 October, sky-high E. coli and coliforms, and a clear common water source for the outbreak. Cholera wasn't in the stool samples fine. The water was still filthy and unsafe. Quibbling over the exact pathogen while kids are in hospital is pure deflection.
You ran out of chlorine after a supplier dispute and kept feeding residents untreated river water drawn from dysfunctional sewage works. That is on you and the ANC-ActionSA coalition. Stop trying to make the man who exposed the negligence the villain. Fix the plant, release the full test results, and stop playing politics with people's health. Leave Cilliers alone.
I am deeply disappointed by the continued attempts by former Executive Mayor Cilliers Brink to exploit the water crisis in Bronkhorstspruit for political advantage, including through misleading claims about cholera.
At a time when residents are understandably concerned about their health and safety, Mr Brink has chosen to amplify fears of another cholera outbreak without adequately explaining the scientific findings available to date.
Let me be absolutely clear: cholera has not been identified as the cause of the gastrointestinal illness outbreak in Bronkhorstspruit.
