Margo is a worried girl but has alot of potential to improve quickly. She just needs a family 🙏🏻 She’s around 5yrs old and has likely never had a good time in her life. It’s sad it has to take so long for so many rescue dogs to find good homes. Will you share Margo ? Her kennel friend Tiara is off soon to live her sweet life. Let’s share and do the same for Margo ♥️🙏🏻

I think this is a genius thing, and especially useful now. @DogsTrust have added a Sound Blanket to their website (link below), developed in collaboration with @SalfordUni. It uses acoustic science to mask the bangs of #fireworks and may calm dogs down. dogstrust.org.uk/dog-advice/…

Jesse Adams came from Canada to rescue animals near the front line in Ukraine. On 25 October, a Russian FPV drone hit his car in Kramatorsk just after the animals had been loaded inside. The drone struck the windshield. Doctors at a local hospital operated and tried to resuscitate him but could not save him, his team at Animal Rescue Kharkiv says. Jesse founded RainCoast Dog Rescue Society in Canada in 2014 and joined Animal Rescue Kharkiv in May. A few days before he was killed, he wrote that volunteers had rescued 80 dogs and cats in Kramatorsk in one day: "These poor animals do not understand war and are simply innocent victims of another country invading Ukraine… It breaks my heart that we even have to do this type of work, but it is my privilege and honour to be a small part of helping these animals reach a better life." 📷 Animal Rescue Kharkiv

💔 IN MEMORY OF JESSE ADAMS — A TRUE HERO FOR ANIMALS 💔 It is with enormous sadness that we have learned of the tragic death of Jesse Adams, founder of RainCoast Dog Rescue Society in Canada, who lost his life while carrying out an animal rescue mission in one of the most dangerous areas of Ukraine. Jesse dedicated his life to saving animals, even when it meant putting his own life at risk. We first came to know Jesse in 2021, when Afghanistan fell to the Taliban. Jesse and RainCoast were among the extraordinary organisations that came together to assist KSAR with the evacuation of 285 cats and dogs, helping many find loving forever homes. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Jesse travelled to the border to help fleeing families and their pets, providing veterinary care, supplies and assistance getting animals to safety. He returned repeatedly, undertaking increasingly dangerous missions. Most recently, Jesse worked alongside Animal Rescue Kharkiv, rescuing hundreds of animals from devastated frontline communities under constant threat from drones, missiles and artillery. These were extraordinary acts of compassion and courage in the face of unimaginable danger. Jesse knew the risks. He knew every mission could be his last. Yet he continued because he believed animals caught in conflict deserved protection just as much as those living in peace. Those of us working in animal rescue in conflict zones understand and accept these risks. But few possess the courage to repeatedly travel towards danger when everyone else is trying to escape it. Jesse was one of those very special people. His death is a devastating loss to his family, friends, RainCoast and the international animal rescue community. Our hearts go out to everyone who knew and loved him, particularly the Ukrainian rescuers who worked alongside him. His legacy lives on in every animal he saved and every rescuer he inspired. Rest in peace, Jesse. The world has lost an extraordinary human being, and the animals have lost a true champion. 🐾💔 With love and deepest respect, Louise and everyone at War Paws #JesseAdams #RainCoastDogRescue #WarPaws #Ukraine #AnimalRescue

Meet Lottie Longlegs - our lovely 5-year-old Greyhound. Lottie has lots of love to give - she can be shy to begin with but once she gets to know you, she is the sweetest, most affectionate girl. Lottie is a major foodie and tasty treats are definitely the way to her heart! This little sweetheart would benefit from a calm, patient family who can take the time to build her trust. 💛 Check out her profile ➡️: bit.ly/4dWc2Gm #AdoptDontShop #ADogIsForLife @DogsTrust

AN OPEN LETTER TO @Cai_ParryJones Dear Mr Parry-Jones, I am deeply disappointed by your recent Facebook post. Not because you wish to overturn the ban on greyhound racing – that is your prerogative as an elected Member of the Senedd – but because of your unnecessary and offensive description of hard-working and respected animal welfare organisations in Wales as “fat-cat lobbyists”. Animal welfare is a cross-party issue, and it is both legitimate and important for charities to engage with elected representatives and advocate for policies that we believe will deliver the best welfare outcomes for animals in Wales. We will not always agree with every party or individual politician, and issues such as greyhound racing, the badger cull and hunting can understandably be contentious and divisive. But we have always sought to engage constructively and respectfully, recognising the different roles we each have. The #CutTheChase coalition – Hope Rescue, Greyhound Rescue Wales, Dogs Trust, Blue Cross and RSPCA – plays a significant role in safeguarding animal welfare in Wales. Between us, we rescue and rehome thousands of animals every year. Last year alone, Hope Rescue provided a place of safety for 794 dogs. Coalition members support owners in crisis by taking in their pets; help local authorities discharge their statutory stray dog responsibilities; support pet owners fleeing domestic abuse; help homeless people keep their pets; rescue surplus and injured greyhounds; provide subsidised veterinary care; investigate and prosecute animal cruelty; help close down puppy farms; and support pet owners to keep their animals through community programmes. This is difficult, challenging and often deeply emotional work. We are currently operating in the midst of an animal welfare crisis, with demand for our services far exceeding our capacity to respond. At a time when charities are already under enormous financial and operational pressure, it is particularly disappointing to see organisations working on the frontline characterised in this way. Advocacy and engagement with politicians are a legitimate and essential part of charitable work. Campaigning for long-term change that improves animal welfare, tackles the causes of the problems we see every day and reduces pressure on already overstretched services is an important part of our role. We have always sought to maintain constructive relationships with Welsh Government and opposition parties, regardless of whether we agree with their policies. We may disagree profoundly about greyhound racing and how its future should be determined, but those disagreements should not diminish the contribution made by the organisations and people working every day to protect animals in Wales. To describe those organisations and their supporters as “fat-cat lobbyists” is not an accurate or fair characterisation of the work we do. Nor do I believe it is helpful to the wider relationship between politicians and the voluntary sector when there are legitimate policy disagreements. I would therefore ask you to reconsider your choice of words and how you engage with our sector. More importantly, I would welcome the opportunity for you to come and speak with us tomorrow, when we will be attending the #WorldAnimalDay celebrations at the Senedd. You will find representatives of all the coalition organisations there. We would be very happy to talk to you about the work we do, the challenges we face and why we believe advocacy for animal welfare is such an important part of our role. We may not agree on greyhound racing. But we should be able to disagree while maintaining respect for one another and for the people working every day to protect animals across Wales. Yours sincerely, Vanessa Waddon CEO, Hope Rescue

Please retweet to help Toby and Derek find a home together, #NOTTINGHAMSHIRE #UK Bonded pair, available for adoption. Registered British Charity ✅ ✅ ✅ Details or apply below👇 jerrygreendogs.org.uk/dogs/t… We’re a very special bonded pair looking for a loving forever home together. As you can see, Derek and I make a great team. In fact, one of Derek’s favourite places to sit is right on my back. I don’t mind one bit, I make a pretty comfy chair if I do say so myself! 💚 I’m a friendly, affectionate Labrador who loves being around people and soaking up all the fuss and cuddles I can get. Derek is 5 years old and he’s my best friend; we’re hoping to find a family who’ll welcome us both with open arms. If that family happens to have snacks handy too, well, we certainly wouldn’t complain! 🦴😋 Our ideal home would be with children aged 14 and over. I’m a lovely boy, but I can get a little enthusiastic and bouncy when I’m excited, and sometimes I forget just how big I am! We enjoy meeting other dogs out on our walks, but we’d prefer to be the only dogs in the home so we can continue being each other’s favourite companion. We could happily live with dog-savvy cats who have experience living alongside dogs. We’d also love a secure garden where we can potter about, stretch our legs, and enjoy a spot of sunbathing whenever the British weather allows it! ☀️ Once we’ve settled into our new home, we could be left for a couple of hours at a time. Having each other around means we’re never short of company. If you’re looking for two loyal, loving companions who will fill your home with fun, friendship, and plenty of cuddles, then we could be the perfect pair for you. 💚 To apply for us, please complete an application below or contact the Nottinghamshire team for more information at [email protected] Hope to meet you soon! Lots of licks, Toby and Derek 🐾 Please share wherever you are to help Toby and Derek stay together 😀 Jerry Green Rescue, on Twitter @JerryGreenDogs #dogs #Labrador #JRT #England #TobyandDerek @KatieAmess @PatrickChristys @EamonnHolmes @GMB @liamgallagher @rickygervais @JaneFallon @ConservativeAWF @UKLabour @reformparty_uk @RoyalFamily @RobbieRinder @clarebalding @missgemcollins Toby and Derek, looking for a home together, 27 Sept, 2026.

🦆Ollie the mallard was brought to Tiggywinkles after being found covered in oil. Oil can strip away the natural waterproofing of feathers, affecting a bird’s ability to stay warm, swim & fly. Ollie was remarkably relaxed about his unexpected spa treatment from our vet nurses! 🛁

Everyone in rescue is devastated by the news of a terrible traffic accident yesterday, which stole the life of two wonderful volunteer ladies, and 9 of the 10 precious dogs they were transporting from Turkey 💔 The dogs were heading to their forever happy ending in France and to Claire from Homeward Bound, their rescuer who had been caring for them for years. These selfless ladies tragically lost their lives taking them to their safe place. We send all our love to their family and friends, and especially to Claire who has been robbed of so many of the beautiful dogs she dedicated her life to. Photos of the crash are circulating widely but out of respect for all involved, we chose a photo of their angel wings 🪽💔💔
