Dear Europeans, prepare to oppose with brute force; Cyberattacks, Monero, Mullvad, GrapheneOS, Linux, SimpleX, self-hostable services... PREPARE TO FIGHT THE EU!
🚨🇪🇺 The #ChatControl trilogue starts on Tuesday & the EU Council is trying to pressure Parliament into giving up its opposition. We must stop them once again! 💪🏼
Ahead of tomorrow’s final CSAR trilogue, leaked Council documents suggest a proposed compromise around so-called "search plans". These would allow authorities ask providers to scan broad groups of users or entire services for extended periods.
This isn't targeted policing, it is mass surveillance!
It's crucial that the EU Parliament remains strong and keeps up their opposition.
Because no matter the framing, the truth remains the same: There's no backdoor for the good guys only!
We at Tuta will continue to fight for your right to #privacy. Make your voice heard as well, today is the day!

Something just came across my desk and I will be pivoting out of Web3 domains.
Time to make some real money.

Dear / Master / Daddy / are the labels used by some #UDFam when addressing their abuser.
When you lose your pride & dignity you’re essentially inviting others to disrespect you.

I gather this is your first rodeo. Howdy. In what way will any future event change UD's decision not to apply during the now-closed TLD application window?

Poor sod, 10,000 domains, 10 years of wasted time evangelizing a scammers plan. Now can’t even get a 5 minute explanation from the “supreme leader”

You guys are hilarious, neither ICANN nor the winning registry owe you shit. Years ago you were all praising Web3, calling the DNS stupid. Now UD rugged you and ICANN needs to save you?

What ever @unstoppableweb is planning they are ignoring all the long term believers that have partially financed them from the beginning.
AI posts will not make them look good and ignore the #Web3 community also not.
The hole is wide open and someone will fall.
1/ Unstoppable Domains didn’t file for .crypto, .wallet, .bitcoin, .nft, .dao or .agent in the ICANN round, after telling holders in February it would. Refunds are open. The founder says web3 naming is “small” and “niche.”
Here’s the view from agent naming.

On deciding to not apply for ICANN tlds:
The cost of taking web3 domains through icann in both compliance and application and bidding is higher than what we believe we'd recover in sales.
It is a better decision to refund people since we made the icann pivot than it is to proceed through icann. And the time to make that decision was now since the applications are due.
We've lost money during this process than we made selling web3 domains through our investment in dns infra, ongoing operations, and complaince. In addition we are refunding customers since the announcement of our dns integration plans so don't have this as offsetting revenue. We are losing money.
We didn't apply and are refunding as we communicated in emails over the last 24 hours.
People here can argue all they want, but we have the actual sales numbers to support our business decision.
I think a lot of people have an inflated sense of the web3 market since the 2021 crypto nft bubble. It is small. It is niche. And we do not believe it can support our multiple generic TLDs in this round.
The web3 domains will remain as onchain assets for crypto transactions as they have always been.
