"That's what we wanted to do — be a little spoiler. Obviously, what the Knicks accomplished is great. But it's a new season, new year."
And the Sixers may be new, too.

more fun with small samples: through 2 games, the raptors' defence has allowed 57 made field goals and forced 50 turnovers
At the half possession quality on shots where Hart isn't shooting: 1.13 PPP, 1.03 ePPP good stuff so far
However, starting lineup with x5 on Hart in last two games (I'm at the half in BOS): 17 possessions 0.27 PPP😬

The Mavericks, I’m told, are expected to list Kyrie Irving as questionable for tonight’s home opener as part of Irving’s ongoing left knee injury management on Dallas’ first back-to-back of the season.
Dallas is already without Cooper Flagg due to a mild left shoulder sprain.
"I feel like we're comfortable with it. We've finished games with this lineup before.”
The Spurs’ bold decision to start 3 guards certainly comes with positive tradeoffs, but an 0-2 start won’t go unnoticed.

Superman’s dog is named Krypto. He named him after the planet. Imagine a dog named Earthie. Get back to me on this, please.

This is such a better example of “welcome to the NBA” from Joakim Noah than a superstar dunking on him. I wanna hear about how Chris Kaman busted his ass so much more.
Now that the team has acknowledged this whole episode as an "unfortunate mistake," I think we can all agree that this morning's pro bono cybersecurity ethics seminar was time well spent for everyone.
The Knicks said in a statement they are gifting more than 275 championship rings and jewelry to players, coaches, employees and other members of the Knicks family:
“The company had previously sent out an email to its corporate team as a simulation of a phishing attack designed to strengthen our security against hackers. MSG was recently hacked and extorted using an employee login and password obtained through a similar phishing attack. Using the rings as a lure to gain employees attention was an unfortunate mistake.”
It's like I've always said: If you like the sports team, you have to be willing to die in support of their cybersecurity policies.
"We didn't get a chance to do it last year — this is what it was supposed to look like before.”
The Rockets are racing, spacing and most importantly, healthy. It’s October so no one knows what it means, but it’s provocative.

Second straight game that swung in the second half when they had Joel play as a roamer and put LeBron on the 5.
The issue, to me, isn't a specific phishing email or when assistants get rings or whether it's sound to avoid the second apron and negotiate hard or jettisoning Mitch pre-parade. It's how it's all seemed almost designed to drain the sweetness. A pointed sprint to poison the well.
Maxey being the best player on the floor, aggressive defense, hitting the gas in transition, matchup-hunting with two bully-ball big wings, and the occasional post-up or trail 3 for a former MVP. Pretty decent formula!
