Thobela. Yes we have had many interviews over the years and there was no blood on the floor. Hence my response is to your DP, who is the author of the post to which I was responding. I am however mindful of the pattern displayed by your leadership- past and present. They get into street fights and insult people in your name. Your current DP just did and your previous one was EXCELLENT at it. The man who used to get you ice when you needed it, also did it. You are the leader. And it doesn't seem to bother you. Why is that...
Replying to @RediTlhabi
You’ve interviewed me many times and asked questions I didn’t like, and I’ve given you answers you didn't like. But one thing is certain, we’ve never dictated to each other which questions to ask or what answers to give. Thobela.

Here is why Helen should be the mayor of JHB; thoughtful, strategic, detail oriented, and laser-focused on service delivery. This is exactly what we require of a Mayor in JHB, and why I support her.

To see leftist podcasters, comedians, and commentators laugh about political assassination as though it’s entertainment and the destruction of a human life is a punchline, is beyond disgusting.
My husband, Charlie Kirk, was killed in an act of political violence, something our two children and I will live with every day for the rest of our lives.
A culture that laughs at assassination is one of profound moral decay. It threatens the very foundation of our country and the principles that hold our democracy together.
You do not have to agree with someone’s politics to recognize the value of their life. This should not be so hard.
Political violence must never be something this country tolerates, excuses, or celebrates.

Me, me, me and more me.
I thought that these local elections were about service delivery and US.
And all the trigger words - racist, sexist, rapist etc to try give credence to what is clearly a very personal vendetta.
Have no interest in this.
ActionSA leader and City of Johannesburg mayoral candidate says his party will never work with the DA because the party is “racist.”

2- DA and ANC: 54.6% (118 seats)
3- ANC, ActionSA, EFF and MK Party: 50.0% (109 seats)

WOW
Namun, perjalanan teknologi masih sangat panjang.

Mr Flp-flopping @HermanMashaba is unplayable. He's self-centered, egotistical mannerisms are absolutely mind-boggling. No wonder other parties couldn't work with this buffon last time around. He honestly thinks he's won the lottery

So... Do you really want to tell me this is worse than some empty-skulled savage chanting "KILL THE BOER" and ACTING ON IT??!!
The dumbass, brain-dead, AA-appointed, unqualified, biased scum representing the @SAHRCommission certainly decided insults are more serious than murder.

The irony is almost too much. The autopsy report was made public and Biko's death was exposed as a murder by the apartheid state thanks to the work of a young journalist called @helenzille. I wonder what became of her...

I am happy that more South Africans are finally seeing Julius Malema for who he is. An angry, disrespectful race-baiting demagogue. A Gucci revolutionary who thrives on hate, violent rhetoric, and empty promises while living large and dividing the country he claims to fight for. The mask is slipping.

Please do not allow any politician or political party to gaslight you into believing that the way the public voted has somehow forced them into an impossible situation where they now have too little time to negotiate and form governments.
The Local Government: Municipal Structures Amendment Bill, commonly referred to as the Coalitions Bill, has been in development since 2024 and was only formally introduced in Parliament in August 2026.
Among other things, the Bill was meant to provide a proper legislative framework for coalitions, including extending the current 14-day period for convening newly elected councils to 30 days, giving parties more time to negotiate.
Every single political party knew this. We have been dealing with coalition governments since 2016. We went through this again in 2021. Nobody can pretend that the possibility of hung councils in 2026 came as a surprise.
I personally called at least one senior person in each of the big six political parties, in some cases more than one, to raise these very issues. So I know they knew.
Yet I have already heard two politicians suggesting that voters have put them in this difficult position.
No. The voters did their jobs. They voted.
Political parties had years to prepare for these outcomes and to ensure that the necessary legislative reforms were in place. That this was not done cannot now become the responsibility of the electorate.
The public is not responsible for political parties failing to plan for an electoral outcome they knew was entirely possible.
And please, let us not start treating voters exercising their democratic rights as an inconvenience to politicians who now have to negotiate with one another.
Democracy does not exist to produce results that are administratively convenient for political parties.

In 1977, there was a young journalist at the Rand Daily Mail who helped uncover the real cause of Biko's death, totally dismantling the Apartheid government's claim that he died from a hunger strike.
Her name was Helen Zille, and you'd be lucky to have her as your Mayor.

The party was reduced to 46.44% in the previous election, forcing it to government through a coalition with the FFPlus and ACDP.
