I love Academic validation like mad, I feel more like myself when I do very well in my studies
…since I was also juggling a 9-5.
I wrote my notes once, retained my mnemonic usage, used ChatGPT for flashcards, Notebook LLM to convert my course materials into podcasts and started practicing active recall. Might have been an overkill, but it worked😂.
In undergrad, I had my handwritten course notes and when time came to prep for exams, I’d rewrite and read my notes multiple times. It was calm. I had time on my side.
For my master’s however, I quickly realized that wasn’t going to work, as time was a luxury I couldn’t afford…

Silence is how perpetrators get away with being abusive.
The kids already know, especially the eldest.
If the family keeps on the charade, that 1st born will resent them completely.
Also, like water, justice will always find its level. If this is the justice she never had while alive, then its the social justice she deserves.

This is a moment for compassion, not exposure. Rosemary’s private writings should be handled with care and respect, not turned into something for public consumption....think about her children!!!!!

Facts! My fundi did this for 6k each, but I can’t recommend him anymore though, because he became shifty. But getting frames done and buying the glass in Gikosh with the thickness you prefer is quite affordable..

Nairobi has enough restaurants. The problem is most people keep rotating the same 3 places
Try these today:
📍 Gogol Pizza — Loresho
📍 Habibi Cafe — Koinange Street
📍 Biryani Darbar — Parklands
📍 Mangrove Cafe — Karen
📍 Cafe NBO — Chaka Place
If the date fails, at least the food shouldn’t

Today I walked into two of my classes and was completely surprised by cakes from my students celebrating my PhD.
Now for the lecturer who probably gives the most assignments and insists that everyone must speak in class… this was quite the shock! 😅

This guy is one of Kenya's best brains - and very few know about him.
Introducing John Tingoi - the Chuka University prodigy putting Kenya on the global map!
John Tingoi has been busy solving complex equations that most of us can’t even pronounce.
And guess what?
He just beat 9,000 contestants in Kenya (and nearly 80,000 worldwide) to make it to the Global Finals of the International Quant Championship (IQC) 2025.
Now he’s off to Singapore, from Sept 29 - 30, where he’ll stand on a world stage as one of the top 12 brains alive in this field.
Wait a minute.
What’s this Quant thing that’s taking John across the globe?
Quant is the short for Quantitative Finance/Research.
This is the wizardry of turning massive amounts of numbers into decisions that move billions.
Quants use maths, coding and statistics to:
- Predict how financial markets will behave.
- Build models that guide banks and hedge funds.
- Manage risk before investments go wrong.
- Power algorithms that even AI and trading bots use.
Basically, they’re the “behind-the-scenes geniuses” who make the money world tick.
And now, thanks to John, Kenya has a seat at that powerful table.
His win is not just personal - it’s proof that Chuka University and Kenya at large can produce talent to rival the best in the world.
Big up to you, John Tingoi.
From the slopes of Mt. Kenya to the high-tech arenas of Singapore, the flag is flying high because of you.
We wish you all the very best.
