Its been awhile since I found some inspiration and more importantly time/energy to do any creative side project. But recently found some inspiration to dive deeper into more traditional roguelikes and proc gen stuff. Starting this thread so I don’t give up on it :)

We've finally done it. We figured out a way to go back to the good ol' days. But can @RiotPabro get @RiotMeddler on board?
Tune in to MSI Finals on July 11 at 11pm PDT to find out.
Took awhile but I finally installed Claude code and it’s the biggest jump in programming accessibility and innovation I have felt in decades. Between chat gpt/copilot and this, have been solving code and math problems that i had thought were beyond my skillset at such a fast rate
Claude understands Godot script pretty well too. The open source nature of the engine probably. If you are interested in this path, highly recommend doing some experiments and seeing the potential!
Just scratching the edges of what it means for game design and workflow. Early tests have been really eye opening. If your data system is exposed to text and doesn’t have core engine dependencies, the rate of iteration on content feels unbounded.
This team is stacked with great people. If this is your jam, highly recommend reaching out!
Any dev friends out there - we're LFM on a handful of important jobs on the MMO team. If you or anyone you know would be great for one of these roles, please apply!

Right now my game @PlayLegacyGG is 50% off during Steam's summer sale. Its not a game for everyone, but for players who like RPG fantasy, action combat and PvP it really hits.
This is likely the lowest price we'll do until gold master!

We are hiring entry level Game Designers for both TFT and League!! 🎉🎉 We're looking for Designers that could be great at any of the core design functions on League: Champions, Modes, Ranked/Matchmaking, Balance, Seasonal Updates, etc.
We're looking for passionate League players with deep familiarity.
You don't need to be a high skill player, but you need critical thinking skills, creativity, problem solving, great collaboration skills, a hunger to learn and grow.
Welcoming Career Jumps!
We're particularly interested in professionals from fields that use these skills regularly; law, medicine, consulting, finance, engineering, etc. and haven't considered Game Design as an option.
Maybe you are working in financial modeling and have a Masters in Math and have interest in Ranked/Matchmaking or are working in Law and could use that systemic thinking/edge case spotting for Game Systems. We are willing to teach for the right talent!
We're setting required qualifications at a Bachelors or 2+ years of prior professional experience (in particular, we're interested in people who love League that aren't in gaming fields)
Excited to see all of your applications!!

This is probably one of the best game AI courses I have taken. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in the topic!

Great talk. I remember 10+ years ago or so, I attended a talk at gdc by the sims programming team about their data driven engine and it was so fundamental to a shift in my thinking as a programmer back then.
That's an incredible talk, probably one of the best I have seen, it has that feeling of the early game dev, and great ideas you still can find in different discussions and books,

I’ve officially been at Riot Games for 3 years today.
It’s been a pleasure getting to know all of you and work with the incredible folks here in LA.
Now in light of the wildfire’s destruction I’ve linked below some LA relief funds. Please donate or help out if you can. 🧵
Hyped for 2025! Every year I focus on a few personal game dev goals. 2024 was focused on learning Godot, deeper dives in Unreal and making my own Action game framework.
This year am focused on getting back to C++, Game AI and experiments in pushing boundaries in combat in games.
Playing a lightning sorc in poe2 and it expresses every version of that D2 fantasy I have been looking for - chain lightnings, sparks, lightning from the sky, orbs of lightning, teleports etc. So well executed!
