According to a Department of Justice FARA filing by CRB Global LLC (dba Tactic Global, Registration #7741), the firm - retained by the Republic of Somaliland - held an in-person meeting with Miller (then a senior White House adviser) on February 2, 2026, on bilateral relations.

Update: Somalia’s Supreme Court Chief Justice Baashe Yusuf Ahmed has warned foreign embassies, the United Nations and the African Union of serious threats against him and other Supreme Court judges, in a letter sent today and obtained by Gaylan Media.
Baashe said the judges’ security protection was withdrawn after the Court’s 5 November ruling, and that five judges have been prevented from travelling abroad. He also said he had received intelligence indicating plans for his arrest and possible assassination.
He called on the international community to guarantee the judges’ safety, protect judicial independence and ensure their freedom of movement.

"Somalia stands at a dangerous juncture. The dismantling of our judiciary is a direct threat to the rule of law."
Former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire accused Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of launching an "assault on the Supreme Court" and attempting to arrest Chief Justice Bashe Yusuf Ahmed, hours after the court ruled his term extension unlawful and declared the chief justice's dismissal null and void.
A senior judge told BBC Somali that government troops deployed around the Supreme Court on Thursday and that Bashe was ordered to leave the premises. The court's Facebook page, used to publish rulings, was also taken offline. AFP said it could not independently verify the troop deployment, though photographs circulating in Somali media appeared to show armed personnel inside the court compound.
On Thursday the Supreme Court ruled that constitutional amendments extending the presidential term could not apply retroactively to Mohamud's current mandate, which it said expired on 15 May. It ordered an electoral framework within 30 days and elections within 90 days, and said the president had no unilateral authority to remove the chief justice.
Somalia's presidency and @HassanSMohamud had not publicly responded to the rulings or the troop claims as of Friday evening.

Is it politically wise for a newly elected senator to begin his Senate career by challenging his own party's leadership, rather than first familiarising himself with the institution, building relationships with fellow senators, and establishing political influence within the party?

Ethiopia must rethink its Somalia strategy by distinguishing Somalia’s stability, the strategic orientation of its central government and, most importantly, Ethiopia’s own national security interests. These do not necessarily reinforce one another.

"An Israeli military base near Berbera, Somaliland, would be a regional issue."
Somalia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali Mohamed Omar Bala’ad told TRT World that any Israeli base near Berbera would concern Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the Red Sea. He offered no evidence that such a base exists — and Somaliland has already denied agreeing to host one.
Hargeisa rejected claims of an Israeli naval base in Berbera as unfounded, saying its ties with Israel are diplomatic and that Mogadishu has no authority to speak for Somaliland. Bala’ad’s conditional warning recycles a narrative Somaliland has publicly dismissed, without confirming a single concrete plan.
