Cleveland-Cliffs’ CEO just admitted it: they bought Stelco in bad faith to kill Canadian competition, and Ontario steelworkers are paying with their futures. Ontario can’t stand on the sidelines. Ford and Carney must bring Stelco under public ownership and protect these jobs.
Cleveland-Cliffs CEO: I bought Stelco because I could not afford anymore having Stelco flooding the market here in the United States to the detriment of my own company. David Cochrane: Am I understanding you correctly there? It was a defensive acquisition?

What a thug. Great Chow won!!!
“Special Mayor Superpowers” is a newer strategy that Ford gave to Mayors across Ontario a few years ago. Installing right wing Mayors in major cities across Ontario and then giving them the power to be as unethical, destructive and corrupt as they see fit to benefit Doug Ford.

Hey @BradMBradford supporters, you ran a campaign of hate; you threatened people's lives and called people racist names. Endless spamming negativity; Brad deserves to lose just because you simpletons treat other people badly. GO OLIVIA @MayorOliviaChow @oliviachow

And then Doug Ford blew that wide open
💥EXPLOSIVE ATIP: Immigration Canada knew Indian agents were running MASSIVE FRAUD in the trucking industry and the student visa program as early as 2017 — and stamped the evidence "DO NOT DISCLOSE." According to records released under the Access to Information Act, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) maintained an internal procedures manual for its New Delhi visa office documenting systemic fraud across the student visa and temporary foreign worker streams. The manual instructs officers to treat fraud as anticipated rather than exceptional The most damning thing about this scandal is not the fraud — it's that the government predicted it, kept it running, and then stamped the file "DO NOT DISCLOSE." Canada didn't lose control of its immigration system—they monetized it.

This fake sympathy from Sylvia Jones is disgusting. Her decision and policy change will literally kill people. Shame on her.
NEW: I asked Health Minister Sylvia Jones why cancer patients like 31-yr-old Sabrina Apitz-Grossman are being denied funding for potentially life-saving treatment abroad. Jones defended the government's decision to tighten its rules for funding out-of-country drug treatments.

Every single union in this province needs to stand in solidarity with the teacher's unions and create a #GeneralStrike. Only then are we going to see the changes that workers can enact when they employ meaningful protest tactics.

This looks like abuse of public funds. A Vice-Chancellor earning over £500,000 claims expenses for his wife’s travel, including a “philanthropic engagement” in New York and a “spouse programme” in Switzerland How is this acceptable? Is it not fraud? thetimes.com/uk/education/ar…

That's at Danforth and Birchmount - look at the size of the site. A birdie told me that the site of Bowmore Road Public School in east Toronto has been promised for a data centre.

That’s what Conservatives do. They privatize healthcare. Because they get rich that way. They can’t stand to see all those tax dollars going into public healthcare. They want your tax dollars and they absolutely will abuse it.
The BC Conservative platform cuts $2 billion a year from the budget line that helps pay for hospitals, surgeries, clinics and long-term care They’re going to privatise our healthcare.

People forget. Stan Cho and his family own a golf course where the original Bradford By-Pass was going to be built. He "convinced" both Doug Ford and Carolyn Mulroney to divert the highway and save the family golf course. But nothing to see here.
#ONpoli Stan Cho in 2019: again saying how he will treat taxpayer money with respect… before spending over $16,000 on hotel rooms 6km from his house.

The Ford government's crimes have been absolutely unimpeded for over eight years now. They turned on the taps of the government coffers and let it flow into private pockets. They have written and passed democracy-ending legislation, with no media coverage or opposition.

Economics is fundamentally political. We cannot escape this fact. The so-called “free market” is constructed by laws, maintained by institutions, and enforced by states. The choice between austerity and stimulus reflects deeper beliefs about responsibility, fairness, and social obligation. The mandates of central banks are products of political decisions. The emphasis placed on price stability in Western central banks rather than, say, regulating private finance reflects value judgments as well as political lobbying. One of the biggest differences between mainstream economics and heterodox economics is that the former often disguises political choices as technical ones. Economics has never been, and never will be, a value-free science, no matter how much today's mainstream economics tries to present it that way. At its core, economics is shaped by ideologies, human morality, competing interests, social norms, and political priorities. Pretending otherwise does not make economics more rigorous. It just makes it more dangerous.
