Despite a stubborn wound not healing, I decided along with my nurse & fellow runner that I should try running again. #Colostomy Irrigation has been a game-changer & the parastomal hernia hasn't caused any issues. Here's how I've been getting on mynewbum.co.uk/running-with-… #ukrunchat

2nd October is our #StomaAware day. We see it as an opportunity to tell the world what a stoma is, and the challenges #Ostomates face every day.
The more society understands the easier it will become for people to lead fulfilling lives. Get involved colostomyuk.org/get-involved…
This is why I’m a paying member of @RamblersGB, 18 miles into a run and after a climb up a very steep hill, some well made steps are very welcome.

It’s official! @FastestKnown has accepted the 72-mile Tour de Newport route and recognised my recent run as the fastest known time for it. FKT’s are there to be beaten so who’s up for giving it a go? #ukrunchat /@TeamColostomyUK

Last Saturday I ran 72-miles around the border of Newport, but how did I get on with the stoma and parastomal hernia? The answer – really well. Having a #stoma doesn’t have to interfere with your goals! @TeamColostomyUK @ColostomyUK

On Saturday I completed my 2 year goal of running the 72-miles around the border of my home town. Part personal challenge, part raising money for @MSTrust, part raising awareness that you can still do anything with Crohn's, a stoma & a parastomal hernia. beerrunner.co.uk/2021/07/27/… – at Newport, Wales
This was by far the furthest I’d even run and over some tough terrain I managed to complete it in 17h 38m 54s whilst raising almost £1,100 for @MSTrust. / @CrohnsColitisUK @ColostomyUK @TeamColostomyUK – at Newport, Wales
This weekend I embark on the biggest run I've ever attempted (72 miles) and the number of runners who want to support me along the way is humbling. It reminded me of this quote I read in the excellent book by @Ultra_Damo - In It for the Long Run. #ukrunchat
Every runners nightmare! Having these charge towards you when you enter the field. #ukrunchat
A friendly robin on today’s walk was happy to pose for a few photos and I was impressed with how well this one came out. #shotoniphone
As it’s almost Father’s Day treated my dad to a 2004 Hardy’s Ale from the beer cupboard. Still tastes like a great barley wine.
Getting up at 0345 for a 4am run is often difficult but it is made easier when you have views like this to accompany you. #ukrunchat #4amrunclub – at Newport, Wales
July 19th…why does that date strike me as important? #lockdownextension – at Newport, Wales
When I’m greeted with a sight like this on dawn run, I can’t help think of the excellent quote from @Ultra_Damo’s new book, In It for the Long Run. amzn.to/3x2dD5G #ukrunchat – at Cardiff, Wales
4am run done before it gets hot. Love these early training runs with the rising sun. #ukrunchat #GlobalRunningDay – at Newport, Wales
Colostomy UK are asking people to 'Step Up for Stomas' in September by taking 160,000 steps to represent the 160,000 people the UK living with a stoma: colostomyuk.org/active-ostom… #StepUpForStomas
This July I'm attempting my biggest challenge to date and trying to bag an OKT (Only Known Time) for running 72 miles around the border of Newport. I'm going to be raising money for the @MSTrust in the process and can't wait to test my limits! #ukrunchat beerrunner.co.uk/tour-de-new…
