This is a rural dairy farming community of about a 1,000 people. For those in the UK the reference might be like organised crime setting up shop in Landford, Devon. Just bonkers. National policy with local implications.
Australia is going to have to roll over & give up on the ciggies/chop-chop. Yes, I know that stings when you’re a country famous for getting its policy settings spot on, but this is a big ol’ fail. Own it, fix it, move on. [Also, my old boss & I were right in 2015.] abc.net.au/news/2026-10-28/p…

My favourite Chuck moment of all time!
Ernie Johnson is the goat. This was a highlight in my career and I wasn’t even there. Love you EJ.

An ever faithful retelling of the story.
That new de Gaulle film looks better than I thought.

On this day in 1955: Majestic-class aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne (R21) was commissioned. HMAS Melbourne (R21) was a Majestic-class light aircraft carrier that served in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) from 1955 to 1982. Originally laid down as HMS Majestic for the Royal Navy in 1943, she was purchased by Australia in 1947 and completed with modern carrier technology, including an angled flight deck. Although she never saw combat, Melbourne played a supporting role during the Indonesia–Malaysia Confrontation and the Vietnam War. She became infamous for two fatal peacetime collisions with allied destroyers: HMAS Voyager in 1964, which killed 82 personnel, and USS Frank E. Evans in 1969, which killed 74 American sailors. These tragedies, alongside other accidents, contributed to her reputation as an unlucky ship. Decommissioned in 1982, Melbourne was eventually sold for scrap in 1985 and towed to China. Before dismantling, she was studied by the People's Liberation Army Navy as part of a secret aircraft-carrier development programme and reportedly used to train Chinese naval aviators in carrier flight operations.

Like this is hard to guess. They used to say we would bet on two flies crawling up a wall.
What country's gambling adults lose the most per person each year?

All survivors deserve to be heard, both men and women. One of my policies directed toward men as Family First leader, is to fix the massive underinvestment in funding and specific services for male survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. It’s not survivors who should carry the shame, it’s the perpetrators and the institutions that protect them. 💜 Thank you, Tracie Oldham, for organising this event for the upcoming National Survivors Day, and to all the speakers who shared their stories 💪

Ark Royal. Our full Air Group was 14 Buccaneers, 12 F4, 4 Gannets, 6 Sea Kings, and 3 Wessex. And the bar was big enough to service all of us.

Yes. You see it everywhere. The high trust society is slipping away. Eleven years old stealing from bottle shops with zero consequence. People dumping rubbish everywhere. I could go on endlessly. *sigh*
David Starkey saying something that I, and many others have stated upon observing and living within modern society.

Wow. Just WOW!. Passionate but, er, misguided. I think🤷.
I believe this will be considered one of the most important videos in US history from this time.

Very fair summary.
FT comments never miss. I don’t think I’ve read such a rational analysis of the situation we’re in for a long time.

Quote of the Day... Ryan, Socialist Candidate for Kororoit interrupts Seva Melnikov, One Nation Candidate for Kororoit, when he is replying to a question about small business stress and Victorian taxes. He said as 'As a Migrant who came from a Communist/Socialist Country, I can tell you, you need an incentive for Businesses to thrive'. Ryan chimes in 'that wasn't a Socialist Country'. Seva: "What, the USSR?".

A unique piece of history that had been preserved and had actually been functionally repurposed. Gone. Another blow against the story of Western civilisation. They will attempt to erase everything.
Remember the Eagle’s Nest? The house that was commissioned for Hitler’s 50th birthday, with sweeping views of the Bavarian Alps. Well, tonight about 90 minutes ago, a massive fire broke out there. The building, which is used as a restaurant and mountain inn, appears to have been set on fire deliberately. It was closed at the time. Because of its height at 1,834m, the limited access road and the steep terrain, firefighters have struggled to reach it. The iconic building is said to be fully engulfed in flames. As the police rushed up the mountain they came across a motorcyclist travelling down from the summit. He has been arrested and is now in custody. Don’t you realise that some groups will not be happy until everything is destroyed.
