Markets seem tired, tired of the uncertainty. They gave major RS and resiliency for months on end, but instead of seeing it like some temporary goodwill, it was taken by POTUS as a sign that he was doing everything right. The rubberband broke, with all that goodwill coming in due. The market is tired of the lies. We are now experiencing the market showing the admin enough is enough. We had the biggest technological revolution of all times, a strong economy and everything lined up for a massive republican win. Instead they abused markets, abused the economy and now there is absolutely nothing to show for it. People are struggling, all promises were broken, allies are gone, the AI theme is tanking....

personal take: as much as I'm techno optimist, I genuinely dislike it when people on X dunk on regular folk for criticizing AI a company has told everyone they will lose their jobs, many companies did layoffs, people have families. on top of saying all the layoffs are necessary so AI proves econ value until it cures the cancer or saves planet but they did anything but those so far you might be making a ton from AI, many don't. some people also found a ton of purpose from their work which is gone. I'm not saying we should console people but maybe also don't dunk on a frustrated mass? the field is already detested and this is not helping

🇷🇸 THIS IS BELGRADE TONIGHT Tens of thousands of Serbians packed Slavija Square with music, flares and fireworks after the student-led movement defeated Vučić’s ruling coalition in a historic parliamentary election. The movement grew out of nearly two years of anti-government protests after the deadly Novi Sad station collapse. With almost all votes counted, the student-backed list took 52.7% against 39.2% for Vučić’s alliance. From street protests to control of parliament 🔥 Writer: Sol

Q: it seems like you say a lot of stuff that doesn’t align with what you actually do and deliver and even if you line up all of what is said it isn’t particularly consistent a framework. A. It’s all very complicated. Here are some more words that further obfuscate all that we have said related to what we do. Conclusion. We’re telling a story about what we’re doing pretty much unrelated to what we are doing. But trust us.

EA and the SValley scene is completely gone. You could really use some European philosophy (aka reading a book once in a while)
A common sign that you are in an insane millenarian death cult is that you axiomatically convinced that the Apocalypse will happen within a few months, you are constantly on the lookout for signs that it may have started, you feel both fearful and *excited* about it, and you're constantly talking about it with your friends, who happen to *all* have the exact same set of beliefs.

This is awful. What an era we live in

i'm sure you're all better than me at this but just some of what we've seen if it helps - they're not going to stop. it's going to get increasingly sophisticated and they're going to go after every surface of your system and all of your employees any old projects you've long forgotten about will be found and used against you the only reason we're surviving is because we have agents going 24/7. we're still barely sleeping good luck, sorry you're dealing with this, but really it's a collective problem we're all facing together

This is the most serious 48 hours in cybersecurity history. "Black October" they're calling it It seems every *hour* there's a new incident, that in a typical year, would be one of the biggest incidents of the *entire year* SUMMARY OF THE LAST 48 HOURS: YEAR-LEVEL INCIDENTS (In a typical year, these would be among the biggest incidents of the year): 1. PHP2Shell: a hole in the software behind ~70% of websites. Governments took sites offline. 2. eMudhra: the master keys that prove websites are real were cracked. One was the number 4. 3. California: data on every public school student since 2023 stolen, including disability status 4. Railway: hackers stole customers' secret keys from a hosting platform used by millions of developers 5. Zeabur: 321,810 accounts breached. The company is shutting down. 6. LiteLLM: an AI tool downloaded 3.4 million times a day was poisoned with a password stealer 7. GitLab: a 10-out-of-10 severity hole in every version since 2014 8. Cairn: criminals used an AI hacking tool to break into 100+ companies 9. Ahold Delhaize: hackers knocked the owner of Food Lion and Stop & Shop offline 10. Onamae: malware planted on up to 26,739 customer servers in Japan MONTH-LEVEL INCIDENTS (In a typical month, these would be among the biggest incidents): 11. Signal: a bug could leave your mic and camera on after you hang up 12. NGINX: 3 critical holes in software running ~1/3 of websites 13. HTTP/3: a single connection can crash 7 of the 10 web server types tested 14. Plex: hackers breaking into home media servers 15. SafePay ransomware: FBI warns it has hit 600+ critical infrastructure organizations 16. Palo Alto: ransomware gangs breaking in through company firewalls 17. Bullhorn: platform used by 10,000+ companies knocked offline 18. Medi-Cal: 970,000 patients' data stolen 19. WordPress: hackers stole a plugin maker's keys and used them to plant backdoors on websites 20. AOMEI: backup software's update server handed out a backdoor 21. Meta Muse: Meta's AI agent exposed users' personal and business secrets 22. Tor: 333 relays hijacked to steal logins 23. TiDB Cloud: database company's cloud breached Also serious: 24. State Bank of India: India's biggest bank confirms a data breach 25. OVHcloud: hackers slipped a password stealer into a cloud company's official tool 26. Siemens: a software hole being used to spread malware 27. North Korea: state hackers launch a new attack campaign on South Korea
Guys I’m scared the takeoff is starting. I swear any one of the ~10 CVEs that dropped in the last 24 hours would’ve been “one of the worst in recent years” except a new one is dropping every hour

On veut l'antimatière. On veut l'antigravité.

Here’s @ThePrimeagen saying sg similar using his words So many ppl including CEOs feel the need to have AI “clean up” their thoughts feeling insecure to post them raw When you clean it up w AI you become like everyone else, plus you become associate w low quality and “slop”
I know a lot of you want to make content and I have seen a lot of it Here is my tip (and just the tip girl): Don't let claude write your script, don't let OpenAI review your script, don't let an AI near it at all. Feel what you are speaking. What you can use AI for: "Was 1975's Shockwave Riders really where we get the term worm from?"

Also if you're going to brag about obliterating something, maybe first check whether that thing is regarded by most of the population as an important source of meaning and joy. I don't know, I'm not a PR person

One of the worst forms of brainrot AI has cultivated is pessimism about basic research, ie the idea that important work can only happen inside a frontier/neo lab and only with 10k+ GPUs, so the rest should not even bother. What a bleak way to think about science. And it's false.
