A humane state would prosecute the government agencies that permitted this state of affairs to occur, pour encourager les autres

We’re gearing up for our next intake of interns @raygunio and @autohiveai.
For almost 20 years I’ve been giving many students their first jobs, in our exciting industry. I’m proud to say the longest serving team member in my businesses joined me 18 years ago, as an intern.
There’s no kid gloves, you do real work, with real responsibility. You’re treated as one of the team from day 1.
If you’re a young person in New Zealand looking to work at the countries most AI enabled businesses, we’ll be opening an intake shortly.
Meet Ninos. He came through our intern program and he is exactly the kind of person it exists for.
We take interns seriously here. They do real work from day one, and some absolute rock stars have come through.
Our new round is coming up, and we will be at the @VicUniWgtn careers expo next week, 22 to 23 July.
Know someone great? Send them our way and give us a follow.

Is 220 million litres of water a big number?
My bit in this week's Insights newsletter asks for a little perspective.
The new Southland datacentre's maximum water draw is about 60% of a meatworks, comparable to about 80 hectares of vineyard, or 25% of an irrigation consent.

What an incredibly nasty remark - and I'd say this if it were directed at Jacinda Ardern or any other female MP. Do better @MichaelFieldNZ
We must be fine, @NicolaWillisMP is putting more effort into her hair than the economy

Hey @cjsbishop the deputy PM is riling up people about the plan change stuff. Really hope this isn't just used as a wedge issue by RW council candidates and then walked back by cabinet after the LG election

The second Tsunami alert is a conspiracy by Big Coffee™️ to increase one-off sales across cafes in New Zealand today and you can't tell me otherwise.

I don't have to tell you what happened to these three boys. You already know. How awful is that?

We endured six months of submissions and process for the Treaty Principles Bill, a bill cabinet knew would never pass.
Yet the Govt gives just 12 hours for radical changes to pay equity laws that directly impact hundreds of thousands of workers, mostly women, & their families.

I'm running! With our city (and world) the way it is, there's a need for constructive, pragmatic people at the table. If I'm lucky enough to receive the Greens nomination, I'll be asking for your help - for housing, infrastructure, for a Wellington where everyone can thrive.

I've been told that the break fee for cancelling the *fixed price* Cook Strait ferries could be as high as $200million. We pay this, get worse ferries, at a higher cost, & several years later while the old ferries break down increasingly. The financial wizardry of Willis & Brown.
Members of the ministerial advisory group looking into the future of KiwiRail’s Cook Strait ferry service have been paid more than $80,000 between them since being appointed just two months ago, @nzherald can reveal.

People often say investing is risky.
But nobody talks about the risk of being dependent on a job that could make you redundant any moment.
I’d rather take the first steps to financial independence, even if they’re small, than rely on a job where I could be replaced tomorrow.

Ultimately a CGT is about:
1) Bringing NZ housing in line with foreign investment classes (tax sanity).
2) Making kiwis who earn via capital gains, pay tax equally to wage / salary earners (tax fairness).
3) If we copy UK CGT property losses would carry forward.

Horribly sad news @NewshubNZ
Thank you for telling the stories of our city, and a particular thanks for your important and sensitive coverage of the Anniversary floods. Sad for the passionate and talented workers affected by this, and the broader impacts on our democracy
