He fails to mention that for 40 years, New Zealanders have been able to enrol right up until midnight before election day. The last two elections we could even enrol on election day. It’s a massive backwards step that many people won’t know about until they try vote.
Luxon on the campaign trail today, last day to enrol in NZ election: "Kiws are twice as smart as Australians so I'm sure we can manage, I'm sure we can get enrolled 13 days before an election." (Australians voting in federal elections have to enrol at least 26 days before)

I think this video is one of the defining artifacts of the 2020s. Maybe 21st century politics in general.

Either he doesn’t know or is lying. Very frustrating to hear this. As this is what Auckland’s feedback focused on as well.
this young interviewer completely embarrasses christopher luxon, who tries to say the kid doesn't know the details of the move-on bill, only for the kid to come back and grill him on the details, while luxon just stammers and deflects. clip via voteotago on instagram

#BHN let’s not be revisionists now Whanau. When Luxon was asked if National would engage with gangs he said “No, no, no, no, no, absolutely no,” Luxon said zero engagement so let’s not try to say now the criticism was only about alleged campaigning…it wasn’t. He then said of Labour “that they actually think that even their candidates think it's okay to hang out with gang members and pal around with them” Just spending time with gangs was last weeks evil according to Luxon, don’t shift the goal posts now, just be honest and consistent. If last weeks politician shouldn’t even “hang out” or “pal around with” gang members, then all we’re saying is the same should apply today.

How to avoid an election you will lose>
🚨BREAKING: Benjamin Netanyahu is warning that Iran has restarted its nuclear program and intends to destroy Israel “within a short time,” just THREE DAYS before Israel’s election, after ordering the IDF and Mossad to pursue the overthrow of Iran’s government. Meanwhile, Israel’s own military chief has warned that renewed fighting could force Tuesday’s election to be postponed.

Attack wins games Defence wins tournaments
Arsenal's attack is completely dead. It’s genuinely the worst of the Big Six and easily bottom five in the Premier League. The fact that you have to literally depend on your two center-backs to bail you out and score against Everton is embarrassing. Your defensive structure might scrape you wins against mid-table teams, but the second you face an elite team in a big game where you actually have to outscore them, you are going to suffer immensely.

'Actually it's not bad because of the criteria I just made up which coincidentally describes Labour's case but not ours!' - Luxon & his parrot on Twitter Fwiw I don't think the Potaka thing is bad. But come on, considering Luxon's 'hard line' this is a bad attempt at exoneration
Replying to @LewSOS
Was he campaigning? No Was he at a gang pad? No Was he at a gang fundraiser? No How is it hypocrisy? Ron Marks brother was on Black Power and there was never a suggestion he campaigned to the Black Power because he had had good judgement

Ah, it's only bad if it's part of the campaign This kind of thing happening while they were just on ministerial business representing the Crown is just fine Yeah, totally not Calvinball eh
I don't know if either have said they didn't meet with gangs as part of the campaign, only for footage to emerge that they did. But if they did then the same standard applies for sure.

inb4 her name becomes Onigiri Kaipara
Tama Potaka was then and is now a Minister of the Crown, a senior representative of the government Marama Davidson and Origin Kaipara are opposition MPs. Kerrin Leoni was not even an MP You're right that these cases are not the same. For the govt, it's much worse
