Obama: Here is a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago. There's the childish nicknames, the crazy conspiracy theories, this weird obsession with crowd sizes

Yesterday the @Telegraph published a comment piece by Viscount Matt Ridley about renewable energy, littered with misleading claims. What to make of it? 🧵

Whether you think stopping traffic on the M25 as a climate protest is a great idea - personally I didn't think stopping commuters at Canning Town was for similar reasons- this is a massive injustice: massively disproportionate for a start. @Steffanaquarone my MP

Extreme heat this week in #Spain Air temps over 40C and ground temps in some areas hitting more than 50C. A "Holiday" destination for those who want to bake You can't sustain crops or keep bodies of water in this heat for long - both are required to sustain a society.

In Scotland's inshore in just 50 years we have seen 98% decline in inshore demersal finfish landings @MairiGougeon & @ScotGovMarine appear happy to preside over this social economic & environmental disaster by doing absolutely nothing about it! @SP_RuralAffairs #InshoreLimit

A conference packed with local insight and long term monitoring data: #SWME southwest marine ecosystem conference! Couldn't think of a better way to learn, interact and connect with other enthusiastic #marine scientists in the southwest. Thanks to all for a fantastic day. 👌

To produce 1.5 million tonnes of salmon the Norwegian salmon farming industry needs 2 million tonnes of wild fish, nearly all caught off west Africa. That’s enough to feed 33 million people. The immorality of it is just breathtaking. feedbackglobal.org/blue-empi…

1. This is the only radiator in our house. We haven't turned it on yet, or used any other heating source. Yet we are always warm. Why? Because this house (which we rent) was built almost to passive house standards. Our bodies/cooking/appliances are sufficient to heat it. 🧵

A shocking reminder this Government has stripped back our rights to protest. In the last 12 months it’s also passed new laws robbing millions of workers of their right to strike, locked millions out of the electoral process & now a number of govt ministers can’t wait to take us out of the European convention on human rights - see a pattern developing here?

A few media outlets are picking up this story & making it prominent, but many are not. This is massive, especially considering discussions going for decades about the risk of an abrupt climatic shift. Might @JimSkeaIPCC have a comment?
