Want to know why some teams win year after year, even when the players change?
Habits.
How you practice, prepare, and handle the little things.
Good habits lead to better decisions.
Better decisions lead to better results.
Curt Cignetti nails it. 🔥
🚨Congratulations to the Moo Moo Mafia on winning the Fall World Series with a historic 400 point Challenge BP score on the final day after each team won 1 intrasquad game‼️

One of the hardest lessons baseball ever taught me had nothing to do with baseball.
You can do everything right and still lose.
You can work harder than everyone around you and still get passed over.
You can give everything you have to something and still watch it fall apart.
That's baseball. That's life.
But here's what I've learned...
The work is never wasted.
Even when the outcome isn't what you wanted, the person you became while chasing it is something nobody can take from you.
Keep showing up. 👊

Barry Larkin Adjustability Drill ⚾️
-Tee low and away
-Person is throwing front toss, if they throw it hit that one (fastball)
-If flipper fakes it, hit the ball on the tee (offspeed)

Positional Versatility
Hitting Versatility
Pitching Versatility
Can you make a play 5 different ways?
Can you hit a Baseball 5 different ways?

One thing baseball taught me that took years to fully appreciate...
Not everyone who works hard gets rewarded right away.
Not every talented player gets an opportunity.
Not every good person catches a break.
And sometimes, the people doing everything right are the ones struggling the most.
That's life, too.
Keep showing up. Keep treating people right. Keep doing the work.
Just because the results haven't caught up to your effort doesn't mean they never will. 👊

Hitters. I challenge you next time you get a bad call at the plate, have a stoic, unresponsive reaction. The benefit of this is immeasurable.
1. It looks mature and polished. Looking like mental toughness.
2. If this stoicism takes hold internally, you're better equipped to complete the at bat with a clear head. Unemotional and calculated.
The mindset becomes, "So what. I only need one anyway." You're no longer a victim, feeling sorry for yourself. You're not bringing baggage to the next pitch. You're defiantly confident.
Be a rock in the box.
If you must respond, ask the umpire respectfully, "Is that as far as it goes to that side?" Or, "Is that the edge?" The umpire will get the message (they know when they miss a pitch a lot of times and appreciate you not showing them up), and respect you for the rest of your days.
But plate presence, aura and confidence build. Teammates, coaches and opponents take notice. You become unshakable. Even if it's strike 3. Shake your head (yes or no, doesn't matter) and move on. It'll do wonders for your game (and life).

don't let anybody tell you what you can or can't be. Perfect Game told me I was an above-average varsity player. I ended up being a top 100 mlb draft pick a few years later. Just focus on being the best at getting better. Run your race. People's opinions don't mean sh*t.
Playoff baseball plays - All the time👊

The Brewers are the ultimate OUTLIER
When I was diving in on the game and pitching matchup yesterday I found this. This is a statistic of the average degree of the barrel of the bat at contact point for each team.
Everything to the left is pull side contact point. Everything to the right is opposite field contact point.
29 of the 30 teams are to the pull side.
There’s just one to the opposite field. The Milwaukee Brewers.
This is wild to me. And speaks volumes to their team approach. It means the ball is traveling deeper which has a ripple effect on everything else you’re trying to do as a hitter.
It allows you to recognize off speed for a split second longer. Spit on pitches down and away. Keep pitches fair that you’re normally pulling foul. Foul line to foul line approach.
The team with the best record in all of baseball is the ONLY team doing something. And they’re not even particularly close to any other teams. That’s pretty eye opening.
Also shoutout Twins. Turn and burn, baby.

What I just cannot understand with my little brain is this...
When teams are in MUST-WIN GAMES,
1️⃣They bunt (both for hits and sacs). Like, everybody does it (even the 30+ HR guys)
2️⃣They value putting the ball in play (esp w/ 2 strikes)
3️⃣Backside RBI singles are cool again
But, throughout the 162-game season, WHEN 2-3 GAMES get you *IN* or *OUT* of the tournament, most teams put no value on these things 🤨
Tell me why this is? 🤔🤔

If you’re looking for excuses, you’ll always find them.
I love KOC’s message here.
Every team faces adversity. Injuries. Mistakes. Bad breaks.
The best teams don’t waste time making excuses.
They take ownership, find solutions, and move forward.
