The irony of you pointing out creators throwing people under the bus for views while supporting Strawb and Rev. I like you, Kirsche, but they have maliciously gone after Ember, Powdur, Asmon and more to boost themselves. Will you condemn their behaviour like you are Ember's?

The amount of people going mask off with leaf is a stunning thing to watch,…..
I’m an antisocial nerd, so I’m bad at communicating. I asked AI to help clean up my flow of consciousness to be more easily understandable for everyone. This is the last thing I’ll say on the Ember situation… sorry it is long, you don’t have to read it:
The old internet was built for this. Social circles, MMOs, avatars, and handles let people be themselves or be something else entirely. You could be a different gender, a different species, a completely invented person, and the space treated that as normal rather than a problem to solve. For a lot of nerds, that was the point. The character was the version of you that existed there. You didn’t owe anyone a tour of the body sitting at the keyboard just because they decided they liked talking to you.
Ember said “I’m a woman” and “I’m not a man.” In my rule set, that was still the character. The whole point of kayfabe is that the persona speaks as the persona. If the character is a woman, the character says she’s a woman. That doesn’t automatically turn into a claim that the person behind the account is biologically female, any more than a male VTuber playing a catgirl is claiming to be a cat.
I don’t have a problem with Ember keeping the female character. Online, the persona is the person you’re dealing with. The avatar, the voice, the consistent presentation—that’s the identity that exists in the space. Other creators invited that character into chats and talked to the character. I don’t think that created a debt for Ember to exit the character and hand over real-world information just because people wanted to be friends.
No one has shown proof of coercion or Ember pushing for sexual stuff beyond basic banter. It was ordinary chatting under the assumption created by the kayfabe. From the older internet rule I use, you aren’t owed someone’s offline body just because they presented their persona to you. Treating the later discovery as proof they should have confessed earlier feels entitled to me. They invited the avatar. The avatar showed up. The rest was optional.
This only looks like a clear case of deception if you already start from the position that the physical person must override the character once the conversation is personal, or that anything the character says about being a woman is a literal claim about the operator’s body. I don’t start from that position. It’s a different standard for what an online identity is allowed to be, not a shared rule that one side is simply failing. The online person shared with you about their real self if they wanted.
I understand why they’re upset though. From their culture , they entered those chats under a working assumption that the presented sex matched the real one, shared things they say they wouldn’t have shared otherwise, and later treated the mismatch as a broken premise. That feels like a violation if you believe the physicality stays relevant in private online relationships. I get that reaction. I just don’t share the rule that makes the offline details something other people were entitled to in the first place.
This is why I don’t understand it myself outside of emulation.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says it’s “quite terrible” that people have so much DRAM sitting in their own PCs instead of being used in data centers.
“Everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer. And be used 5% of the time,”
He argues that cloud data centers should make better use of limited memory supplies instead of people running AI models locally.

Yeah, and you made your point, you should have moved on. Instead you're still "criticizing" his opinions.
Face it, you started something and now regretting it because you looked at the monetization opportunity instead of following your own beliefs.

Feel how you will about Ember, but I think you should be pointing the canons at Strawb too, she has very much shown herself to be an opportunist that will break trust solely to farm it harder. And Rev only serves to placate her.
Something has to give.

I think its disingenuous to say that people inviting you to groups or dms is inviting the character and I do not think any creators think this way
there are quite a few large female creators who are upset about this but they do not engage in drama so they will not say anything and that's fine to do, i defend people like that often
the phrase "there are no friends in content creation" is a useful guard because by and large, there's a pattern of them throwing each other under a bus for views
it it explicitly about deception; people playing nice with you until they think doing the opposite will gain them more public favor
if you come from the position that everyone online is in character all the time and it's your own fault if you decided to trust too much and get deceived, then no one should ever have sympathy for you if you then say you've been backstabbed by a friend or someone you thought was a friend has wronged you
how could they have? the internet is a tool for deception and you can never make any meaningful connections
The whole point of being friends with someone is that you trust them more than other people. If you are actively lying about something to most people, that is probably something you should tell people you consider friends - if you don't trust them, you probably shouldn't be friends - if you do trust them, but still don't want to tell them, then that might be a sign that lie is a bad one
I might come off as cynical because I've been burned a lot by people I trusted, but I still believe even in the trash heap of people willing to lie to further their own gains, you can find people who are genuine and are capable of being a real friend

Whole thing actually reminded me of something.
Remember when the Side Scrollers crowd defended Grummz running a full blown porn site while larping as a chick?
And it used money that was supposed to go to his game?
The whole Strawb and Ember situation has shown, once again, how much religion divides those within the same space. You have those that fight over who is the more "devoted Christian", when in actuality all you're doing is giving off the "holier than thou" mentality. That's not going to help you in anyway whatsoever. If you can't come together on the 80-90% of the issues you agree upon, but will literally vilify each other over 20-10% you disagree upon, how in the fuck are you supposed win overall? And especially when you compare those that are secularist or agnostic, to the far left. Which is the most brain dead fucking thing you can do.
I am not in any sense religious. I was raised Roman Catholic. I made my communion and confirmation, went to Sunday school, hell was even an altar boy for a bit. A combination of things is why I am no longer religious. Nothing crazy happened or anything like that, but it was more of things stacking on each other. I may not be religious, but I'm not an atheist either. More agnostic but at the same time I don't believe in the religious concept of a "God". Not gonna get into what I believe cause that's a whole other discussion. Now I won't shun or make fun of someone who is religious, UNLESS, you act like the fucking cringe "holier than thou" dipshit. Pretty simple.
Anyway, since this turned into a tangent, the purity testing is 100% a leftwing tactic that specific people are using on the right. Tell me I'm wrong. Prove to me that I'm wrong. Tell me how it's not the same instance of the left purity testing each other. You either come together for the bigger picture, or you lose and possibly fade into obscurity. Get your heads out of your asses.

I don't wanna be more negative over the recent drama, but as a male VTuber who is openly male and has fought and clawed for every step up I've taken, I will tell you all this:
A lot of these girls will not talk to you at all if you're a man and it's always some excuse about being uncomfortable around men. As far as they're concerned you're not a real person from the word go.

If you aren't willing to read all this and take in all the information provided, then you made up your mind and there's no changing it, ever (not that I really care if you do or don't).
For the past couple of days, I've been back and forth on whether to make a statement about the, unfortunately, ongoing drama with @ember_paradox . Well, since it seems that everyone is willing to take the side of one person or the other with very little information actually dug up and won't look for how it all started, let me give you the timeline leading up to it. Within this is the post and everything afterwards that lead to the original question and then accusation from @darlingstrawbie . Yes, people are going to be tagged in this.
I am not calling anyone out. I am not advocating for anything or anyone. I have sat on the side and so far let the entire Vtubing scene tear itself apart like a bunch of 4th graders. If any of the posts that are in this for some reason become privated, deleted, or unavailable, I do have screenshots of them as well. All posts are from October 26th, 2026. All times that you see in this post are in EST. If you try to say they aren't, that's because the time shown on here is your local time after clicking the link.
This honestly started like any other day at around 8:00 AM. @flyanew had quoted @Leaflit and Ember replied at 8:32 AM with this: teapawt.net/ember_paradox/status/2…
Five minutes later, this same person that quoted Leaflit quoted ember with this post: teapawt.net/flyanew/status/2114697… and Ember replied to that roughly within 10 minutes. After that, the interactions pretty much stopped between the two until the afternoon. This is also when the first accusation of being a "guy" happened that day.
At 10:57 AM, fly finds a clip of Ember's voice changer glitching, the wonders of technology lol. teapawt.net/flyanew/status/2114733…
4 Hours later, 2:58 PM, Ember responds to the post with this: teapawt.net/ember_paradox/status/2… . Keep in mind that we are now 1 hour before Ember starts streaming. Yes, you might find my own response in there as well.
It was never a secret that Ember used a voice changer from DAY 1 of their streaming career. Anyhow, back to it.
At 2:00 PM, Ember quote tweeted fly with this response: teapawt.net/ember_paradox/status/2… (keep in mind that this is before strawb ever came into the picture.)
At 4:17 PM, 17 minutes after Ember starts stream and is in their opening chatting is when strawb finally steps into the picture with this reply to the post ember made at 2:00 PM: teapawt.net/ember_paradox/status/2…
This is speculation on my part as I don't watch strawb, have never watched strawb, will probably not watch strawb, hell I barely watch Rev. However, I think that strawb just didn't have the patience to wait for an answer or something, and after reading the comments, I guess it didn't hit as hard because most of the comments were pretty much "Who cares" sentiment on the matter.
With that in mind, I guess that prompted strawb to post the book thing at 6:04PM, 2 hours into Ember's stream: teapawt.net/darlingstrawbie/status…
With the audience that strawb has, this actually garnered attention. Unfortunately, you CANNOT get all of the context of a 500 page book off of 1 review and and a couple of pages from it. If you want more context on why this was so controversial, go watch Ember explain it themself here: youtube.com/watch?v=avHwSXEt…
With the book thing out now, people ran to that fire. Those of us, like me, sat back to see what would happen. It caught the attention of @KirscheVerstahl and at face value, yes her response was valid. I'll even say that the initial response from @Tectone was vaild at first. The difference between the two is:
Kirsche didn't really keep going on and on about it, said her piece and awaited more information.
Tectone however only ever adds fuel to the fire to make it bigger than it should've been. Especially since that is how he makes his money.
This is now when everything gets blown way out of proportion.
Since then, yes, Ember has come out and admitted that they are in fact a man using a voice changer (Oct 27th, 2026). The decision to go ahead and confront it came quicker than most probably realized. Everyone is too use to everything being dragged out for months.
With the actual timeline produced now, in one post instead of it being scattered about, here is my take on the whole situation.
1: Yes, strawb was in the right to ask if Ember is male. I personally would have asked in private instead. I know that there is still the possibility of the lie happening in DMs but the only person that can answer that possibility is Ember themself.
2. The book thing should have NEVER been brought up. The topic of the book being written has now devolved into everyone saying it's a "transgender, force feminization, fetish, romance novel". See the youtube link above for the actual information on what the book is about. It's only an 8 minute video.
3. Yes, Ember lied. Not only to the ones that they collabed with, but to their entire community. Some of us suspected they were a man, and never really cared. To the ones that seem that they were betrayed and can never trust Ember again, that is your decision. There are some that are willing to give Ember another chance, but it will take time for that to happen, that is their choice.
Since all this happened, a lot has gone on in Ember's community. Most of the time, this is something that can tear everything apart. Since this started, since Ember confessed to being a man, people have left, people have joined, people have been banned. Anyone that has tried defending Ember by attacking the people above are no longer a part of Ember's community. There has always been a policy that "under no circumstance is anyone to go after someone for what they say. No matter who it is!". This is a very strict rule in Ember's community and has been enforced on long time members of it recently.
Now, I'm not sure who all this is going to reach, but maybe with the actual timeline from someone that actually saw it all happen from the start to now, people can have an easier time in their decision making with the information provided.
If anyone learns something from this, let it be this:
"Without all the information, you are acting on nothing more than pure emotion. When all the information is present, you act more on logic and reasoning. In the end, cooler heads prevail."
At the end of the day, I still don't know what the end goal of this whole situation was, I really don't care. I'm not conflicted on whether I'm staying or going. All I know is it is tiresome seeing people try and tear each other down. Whether it's for clout, money, or out of true malice. It is far beyond time that we help each other and build each other up.

How is it that the two most spineless and conniving characters in the entire series have actors with more integrity and dignity than the entire leading cast of heroes
Truly remarkable
Jason Isaacs completely refused to join the public "pile-on" against J.K. Rowling, arguing that real life is far too complicated for instant internet cancellations
Jason Isaacs thinks his former acting colleagues are doing exactly that: stabbing J.K. Rowling in the back. Kicking her while she’s down, turning on her now that it’s become “fashionable,” and speaking badly of her. He doesn’t necessarily even agree with her controversial views. But as a matter of principle, he won’t throw her under a bus.
“There’s a lot to say about Jo,” Isaacs told the Telegraph when asked about Rowling, using her first name (Joanne). “You know, I play complicated people, and I’m drawn to complicated people. I don’t want to get pulled into the trans issue and talk about it, because it’s such an extraordinary minefield.”
He went on to mention some of Rowling’s good works.
"She has her view, and I have mine," Isaacs continued.
"They differ on many levels. But one thing people should also know about her, and I'm not saying it as a counter-argument, is that through her charity Lumos she has given a huge part of her fortune to making the world better for hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children.
And that is unquestionably a good thing. Many of us Harry Potter actors have worked with it and seen the work she does up close."
What Isaacs did is truly admirable: he refused to hand the press yet another juicy story about a former franchise actor publicly discrediting J.K. Rowling. Instead, he did something rare in today's bloodthirsty clickbait world. He pointed out the good in a person, accepted that they disagree, and moved on. Nicely done!

Le based right wingers arguing that you are ethically obligated to share personal sensitive information online publicly on xitter for the sake of preserving the sanctity of "woman's spaces".
"Stop infighting"
Okay, do you dislike liars? Do you dislike men invading female spaces under false pretenses? Yeah? Good, that's the entire situation.
For the last 24 hours, strawb was dragged for questioning whether Ember was a biological man or not...Ember admitted they are a biological man on his own stream today.
"But Ember has been nice to you two". Sorry but I don't think it is nice to deceive people and befriend men and women under false pretenses (which includes some sexual dialogue Ember made, as well as some cases where women confided personal information to him under the assumption Ember was also a woman).
Nobody is criticizing Ember because he has a female vtuber model. Nobody is criticizing Ember because he has a voice changer. He is being criticized because he has actively misled his audience, and even friends, that he is a biological woman. While even, hypocritically, calling out trans people for doing the exact same thing.

People like this are just as interested in turning the internet into a stale family friendly corporate politically correct space as the average prog. They just don't have the same view of what political correctness should be.
Leaflit, you do realize the so-called “Rules of the Internet” were never actual rules, right? They originated from old internet culture, particularly 4chan and Anonymous, as a collection of memes, jokes, and observations about online behavior.
Nobody is obligated to follow them, and they certainly aren’t some universal moral code. The internet isn’t a lawless wasteland where accountability suddenly stops existing because somebody posted a funny list from 2006.
Just as Kirsche has said, and as I’ve repeatedly pointed out myself, the internet has changed. We’re not living in the early 2000s anymore, when anonymity, trolling, and edgy humor dominated much of internet culture.
The internet today is a place where people build careers, establish professional relationships, form friendships, and develop communities. People invest their time, money, emotions, and trust into those relationships. What happens online can have very real consequences offline.
And that’s something I think Leaflit and others are overlooking. You can’t keep applying the mentality of the old internet to an environment that has fundamentally evolved. Those so-called “Rules of the Internet” were never binding rules to begin with. They were memes reflecting a particular era of internet culture.
Anonymity is a right worth defending, but anonymity doesn’t give you immunity from accountability. You can protect your identity without deliberately deceiving people who have placed their trust in you.
The internet has grown up in many ways. Maybe it’s time some of the people using it did too.
