Possibly, perhaps quite possibly. But DK and others have used up most of their goodwill, and I've been around long enough to know that people love to put on their boots and come kicking when someone is down.
As Stu Ungar said (and this applies to the entire industry imo): “It’s hard work. Gambling. Playing poker. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Think about what it’s like sitting at a poker table with people whose only goal is to cut your throat, take your money, and leave you out back talking to yourself about what went wrong inside. That probably sounds harsh. But that’s the way it is at the poker table. If you don’t believe me, then you’re the lamb that’s going off to the slaughter.”

Are prediction markets a place where rec bettors are lambs to the slaughter?
@DeanSisun of @ProphetX doesn't think so.
@capjack2000 sat down with Sisun, @a_kane47 of @sporttrade_app, @irishro of @TeamMatchbook, @BigBuckHunterrr of @magtradingHQ and @samschwartz71 of The PM Pulse for an in-depth conversation about how they got to where they are, what the journey to building prediction markets has been like, and where we're headed.

One of my favorite videos that @UnabatedSports has ever done.
While the downsides of sports betting are very real and should not be ignored, there is a lot of entertainment value and relationships that stem from responsibly utilizing the industry.
I have made tons of friends, both virtually and in my real life, through both micro- and macro-level discussions on sports betting strategies, experiences, and just plain sweating out a game together.
It's not about downplaying the consequences and risks of problem gambling. It's about seeing the good that can also come from it, whether you are a recreational bettor or a sharp bettor.

Excellent reporting @GunjanJS 👏
These small “garage band”-type market makers are precisely the sort of participants that are *completely banned* in the state regulated online sportsbook market.
Why?
- they’re trading electronically (not contemplated by state regs)
- they often form small companies to trade (corporate betting is expressly prohibited by states)

It's time to get in there and find some spots with the NFL In-Game Tool.

The @MasseyPeabody Ratings for Week 3 are live, and the NFC West is filling out the trifecta.
Arizona is letting the division down, rated at -3.43. Which would translate to about Niners -12 this week, per the set.

Is injury news already priced in?
(Not asking for any reason after roughly 40 QBs all went down this weekend ...)
There are ways that the books can give you a clue about what they expect. And when you're in fast-moving injury situations, it helps to know if you have an edge or if you already missed the boat.

Institutional market-making is the lay of the land. Regulations say there has to be a wall between trading arms and the markets. But fees, @capjack2000 says, are still a sticking point.

The pregame close isn't always informative every minute of the way, @capjack2000 says.
If a bettor with meaningful limits can shape the market 30 minutes out to set the stage for larger in-game wagers, "beat the close" gets more complicated.

❗️We're in! @RepHorsford @RepMaxMiller 's FULL HOUSE ACT reverses the unfair tax on phantom gambling income and is now incorporated on page 113 of 114 in HR 10357, which Rep. Horsford thinks will get bipartisan sign-off.
Still a ways to go, but progress! Still applicable back to the start of the year if it passes. All eyes now on Wednesday's markup
