The box holds the song on CD and on cassette, with written instructions. Beside them: the handwritten lyrics, a letter to the future, a copy of her book Dream More, and a piece of wood from the front porch of the house she grew up in. The chestnut is a tribute to her uncle Bill Owens, her first mentor, who spent years working to save the American chestnut tree from blight.

A DOLLY PARTON MASTERPIECE THREAD She wrote a song in 2020 that she would not be around when it was opened. The song is called My Place in History. Dolly Parton wrote and recorded it in 2015, the year Dollywood's DreamMore Resort opened in Pigeon Forge, and then sealed it into a chestnut box that sits in a glass case at the resort. The placard says it is not to be opened until January 19, 2046, which would have been her hundredth birthday.

When a father tries to interrogate his daughter about her new boyfriend, he discovers that raising a clever daughter comes with unexpected consequences. 😂 FATHER: Young lady, who is this boy I've been hearing about? DAUGHTER: Which boy, Dad? FATHER: Don't play games with me! The one who keeps calling you at night. DAUGHTER: Oh, that's Brian. He's my classmate. FATHER: Classmate? At 10 p.m.? Does your school offer night lessons? DAUGHTER: Dad, you watch football at midnight. Are you on the national team? FATHER: Don't compare me to yourself! I'm your father. DAUGHTER: Exactly. You taught me to question everything that doesn't make sense. FATHER: Fine! Let me meet him tomorrow. DAUGHTER: No problem. Should I tell him to come as my boyfriend or as a potential son-in-law? FATHER: Tell him to come as a young man looking for trouble! DAUGHTER: Okay, Dad. I'll tell Mum to prepare enough food for two.
