Data is funny because I can say that Viktor Gyokeres was the only CF in top 5 leagues last season to be in the top quartile for the following: - non-penalty goals p90 - npxG/shot - dribble rate of action - long pass received rate of action Despite being one of the hardest working CFs in terms of his willingness to run at defenders on the ball and stretch back lines off of it, he still managed to get into the box for high quality chances and finished them off with a great goal return. Statistically, he was the best at that combination in Europe's major leagues last season. But then I can also turn around and say that Viktor Gyokeres was the only CF in top 5 leagues to be in the bottom quartile for the following: - back pass success rate - short/med pass success rate - offensive duel success rate - aerial duel success rate He was a total flop... he couldn't keep possession with simple passes and was dominated in duels on the ground and in the air. Statistically, he was the worst at that combination in Europe's major leagues last season. And both statements are true. He was simaltaneously one of the best or worst strikers in Europe last season, depending on what you care about. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
