Ray Bradbury’s ‘Illustrated Man’ has some great sci-fi short stories and love teaching these.

Expect a lot more of this......
Ill timed attack on #teachers by someone close to No10 after all that #schools are doing, but perhaps tells us what #Boris really thinks? Instead of writing about the “NEU problem” @JGForsyth perhaps engage with teachers, all hugely committed to children’s success? #r4today

Case by case I guess. Will work for some departments - clearly. The idea of building community and belonging is a noble one though!

You are lucky to have that community in your department. It isn’t always replicated... I think SLT would be cautious of this as they recognise the need for staff to communicate - their presence can skew this.

No. I need a barrier from work. Plus, I already feel inundated with email and SMHW, no need to add WhatsApp to the onslaught. Do you see benefits?

Definitely agree re GandT and back filling for students. Regardless of decisions at a national level - we will need to rethink curriculum from here on to support gap fill and flexible and ‘radical’ leaders will be more effective at adapting to learning needs after COVID.

I totally agree that we need to think again about how we do this and what’s best for students and society - I am not the visionary, sure on practicalities of how.

Great points. The problem is in consistency of education provision and essentially admitting that we need to separate and classify students’ achievement in a convenient way for future workplaces. How would you solve that?

Suspect the how is nearly impossible to answer. But I applaud the opportunity to see this year as a chance to rethink and improve education. Worth discussing.

Radical idea to address children's wellbeing and education during the #COVID19 crisis... NO ONE goes up a year in September!!!! Cancel academics this year! Prioritise wellbeing and extracurricular / areas of fascination. Repeat the normal curriculum next year...
