Well folks here is my fork of Heroic Games Launcher, It has a bulk importer for previously installed GOG games, defaults to Proton-GE, or Proton CachyOS if they are detected instead of system version of WINE. Fixed some issues with non responsive progress of games being installed etc. This is and will continue to be GOG only for the importer. This overall version will be Linux only, and only packaged as an AppImage. If you want different packaging, MacOS or Windows builds the codes there go for it. This was AI- Assisted so if you dislike AI well probably not for you than. The question of why not just work these into overall Heroic is not quite sure their stance overall on AI assisted coding, seen a bit of a mixed bag response, take each submission at a time kind of thing. Two quite frankly it was done for me and no one else. If someone finds it useful though cool as well. github.com/dark1ltg/HeroicGa…

And to be somewhat fair I do have other projects in my repo I have used AI to poke at (android port of Meridian), A new App Center / Store for Debian/Ubuntu distros. This new Heroic thing im working on.

So I have long been a person that wasn't necessarily "Anti-AI". The problem I have had with it there was nothing really showing me what it could do beyond what we had already seen with personal assistants like Alexa, Siri, etc. Well, recently I can at least say I kind of get it. So I have been spending like the last two months working on my own project that is AI built (coded) but guided by me as far as implementation (github.com/dark1ltg/Meridian for those that want to take a look.) This was something that I had been wanting to see and an itch I wanted to scratch cause of my general disdain for how we digitally interact with music in most music player, a very database mentality. Well now, I have found something else a program that I use frequently, and an annoyance with it, granted an understandable. Heroic Games Launcher is awesome project I love it, but God does having to manual import games fucking suck! Best guess I have been able to find why an auto import has not been introduced for it is because of all the different stores it supports all need different apis, and hand game installs, info etc. all differently. So I am working a narrow focused feature specifically for GOG installed games as it seems to be the most "documented" that I have been able to find. Yes it will be AI coded. But I can now see where AI as a tool can be useful for helping in a situation like this. Where its solving a problem that otherwise would not be looked at or cared about. #AI #OpenSource #gaming

400 people at BioWare just lost their jobs while studios like Embark and the Wardogs team are out here making better games with a fraction of the budget and none of the corporate bloat. This is the state of AAA gaming. Billions of dollars, decades of history, and they still can't figure out that people just want good games. Meanwhile AA studios are thriving because they actually focus on gameplay first. The big publishers are eating themselves alive. None of us should be surprised by any of this.

So @nickjcal we going to see any reporting on this claim perhaps?
I guess I can say it now - so when applicants would apply to the studio, the producer would go through their LinkedIn to see what posts they liked, and if he disagreed with their political/social Like, he'd advocate not to hire them based on their Like.

So here is my take on this Bioware you had like 15 good years pre EA purchase. EA has spent the last 15 years running your brand into the ground. Half baked games at launch, failed live service game, 10+ year development cycles for games, chasing trends instead of playing to the strength of the studio you bought. Their strength was single player focused games. Yet you have them go make a live service game. Or you could look at limitation that EA has placed on them (requiring Frostbite to be used as an engine.) etc. Mismanagement is only part of it. The products you shipped did NOT meet what the Brand was known for. Good characters, decent world building, choices that felt like they mattered. Those aspects Bioware was solely responsible for, and they have been about as deep as a teaspoon of water since EA acquired them. Lets not even talk about EA's pattern of this happening. Visceral, Maxis, Origin, Pandemic, all killed off and told to make stuff that did not play to their strengths as a studio. Its not a simple boogeyman of its cause "Saudi money" or a simple "cause they went woke". Its multifaceted and anyone looking for a 1 reason scapegoat isn't really looking at everything around it and why this happened.

When our Steam page was denied because of this image Savvy was one of the loudest voices in fighting back against the censorship. She was kind and offered support when the situation overwhelmed us. We won and the page was accepted in the end because we all stood together.
I am blocked by @nichegamer right when they put out their panic release. Here is what i was typing: Wow nice panic release. Hey so you lot used my work, called me a grifter, and then your homie is trying to draw attention to my dox and weaponize kiwifarms, trying to change the subject. He even tries to make it sound crazy so people will go see my dox. I think thats disgusting, but thanks to him he admitted publicly on main you guys do indeed censor yourselves. And to claim panty censors arent important? Disgusting. Then to call me a grifter for being consistent? Fuck you all.

First payment from Steam for Luminary sales! Making Luminary has Ups, and Downs, but seeing this hit my bank account this morning was huge! I feel like a real gamedev now. Does $75k cover my development costs so far, nope, but is it a big step in the right direction, yup!

If this is true, don't stop. Physical media should never disappear. Once everything moves to the Cloud, they control how we interact with the media we consume.

Painting everyone with a broad brush, like 'toxic neckbeards' or calling Windows users 'air-headed,' is a disingenuous starting point. We shouldn't stereotype entire user groups. #TechCommunity #UserExperience

Linux's 'fuzzy search' is a game-changer! No more knowing exact names – type 'Task Manager' and it finds 'System Monitor.' It intuitively bridges the gap from Windows or macOS, making the transition seamless and user-friendly. #Linux #TechTips

It's interesting how activism in open source has started a campaign of harassment of of developers. I am concerned that the open source community culture is getting very sick.
