I heard a snippet from a podcast from FA Learning and Chris Welburn about new formats and the focus for coaching: *3v3 = Master the ball *5v5 = 1v1 skills *7v7 = Pairs and threes *9v9 = Units *11v11 = Team tactics Use that to create a focus for development

Got to agree. I just think they are hugely misunderstood. Someone posted once about they don’t teach scanning. What this missed is they teach the structure of the game. And they are perfect scaffolding learning.
Can someone explain once again how position play exercises and rondos are not effective training & activation activities? I am seeing Spain execute them everywhere. 🇪🇸 Better get back to circuits, passing and line drills. That will help us catch up. 🇺🇸 This was Cruyffian football on display. #TOVO #intelligentfootball

Video game designers have created environments people want to engage in. Players can explore, fail, adapt, and scale challenge without judgement. There is a lot we can learn from how they design environments that keep people wanting to play.

A simple philosophy for supporting players on their journey in football. Nothing complicated. Just real practical development.

Up to U14, football development is stupidly simple. Yet most coaches manage to overcomplicate it. 🧵⚽️

City players are close together in the ball zone, but they're too static here. There can be more approaches to the ball carrier, more pass and move, movements to find surprising combinations.

Some creative build-up ideas from @SarajarviJani 's Estonia u21 team.
It always makes me happy when I find something new. Like this U21 Estonian build-up for instance.

If only "technical" coaches understood.
