As Wes Streeting gears up for his leadership bid, I bring you this extravagant denial from the health secretary from November that he was plotting for the leadership
Asked if he would rule out demanding Starmer's resignation: “Yes, and nor did I shoot JFK. I don’t know where Lord Lucan is, had nothing to do with Shergar, and I do think that the US did manage to do the moon landings. I don’t think they were fake.”
It was from a highly memorable broadcast round on the back of a @patrickkmaguire scoop that Starmer had said privately that he would fight off any leadership challenge. His allies named Streeting as one of the plotters
Streeting delivered the same line about JFK in about half a dozen interviews afterwards

Every time I see a horrific story about a cruise ship I just think how vindicated I feel about hoping never to be on one. I can’t imagine the horror of being trapped in a tiny cabin knowing folk are dying around you and that it’s gonnae be made into a Netflix documentary.
