The “trigger trap” is a real source and consequence of migraine stigma. Family, friends, co-workers, and bosses need to cool it when it comes to snooping for triggers.

👇🏽nice thread from AZ/Oxford trial participant and super smart person. my summary of his take. Is it safe: Y Does it work: Y Exactly how well does it work: don’t know yet
There are some good and bad hot takes about the Oxford/AZ vaccine going around - I'd like to add my view which I hope is more light than heat.

Fabulous news!
Galcanezumab (Emgality) has been approved by @NICEComms for *both* episodic and chronic #migraine. This is fantastic news for sufferers in England and Wales, and opens up the possibility of preventing patients with high frequency episodic attacks progressing to chronic migraine

A very worrying but unsurprising trend arising from the pandemic. Hiring/promotion/funding panels should be especially conscious of the additional caring responsibilities that researchers have had to take on throughout this crisis, and to be mindful of this when making decisions.
Six weeks into widespread self-quarantine, editors of academic journals have started noticing a trend: Women — who (ofc) shoulder more family responsibility — seem to be submitting fewer papers than usual. There is some evidence that men are submitting *more.* (a thread)

Some very worrying data coming out describing decreases in hospital admissions for suspected heart attack throughout the COVID-19 crisis. If you feel seriously unwell, call 999! The NHS will continue to provide emergency care for everyone who needs it ❤️

I really do have to laugh. Academics at this stage in their careers may be afforded the luxury not to have to publish in the glamour journals but as it stands the careers of ECRs are made (or broken) by them. The sooner we all subscribe to DORA, the better.
"The research counts, not the journal!" Nobel Laureates speak out against impact factors.
