I don't tweet much as it is these days, but for what it's worth, this will probably be my last tweet. Find me on #Nostr for anything text-based, Instagram for photos (until someone builds something on Nostr that has great UX for pics).

"Happy Hong Kong"...
A 90-year-old licensed street hawker in #HongKong had her roast chestnut trolley confiscated after she asked a relative, a non-license holder, to look after it temporarily while she was away for a toilet break.

Sad news today with the passing of local French restaurant chef/owner Gregory Alexandre, dying in a motorcycle accident in the early hours of February 17th.
Alexandre had recently opened a new restaurant "Racines" in Sheung Wan, along with well-established BOUILLON.

These "paper" bottles are actually lined in plastic (Tetrapak). They're very hard to recycle as they're essentially a composite, fused together with layers of other materials. It's probably less plastic than a bottle but at the end of the day they mostly still go to landfill. 1/2
Not only is @EtroOfficial handing out water to thirsty(!) guests, but it used paper water bottles rather than plastic. 👏 cc: @HotButtonsPod

To my knowledge, at least five Taiwanese commentators and politicians are gifting more than 300 bags of Taiwanese fried chicken chop for free on the street because they won/lost the bet on whether Pelosi will come or not.
It's a win-win tradition and should be treasured.

Getting numb to sad news in Hong Kong but some things still cut deep. Yau Ma Tei’s iconic Mido Cafe appears to have closed permanently after 72 years. Their farewell note really struck a chord 🥺

“It’s the iconic ’50s interiors and architecture people come for – those curved corner windows, the hard, straight-backed banquette seats, the mosaic walls and floors. It’ll forever be a Yau Ma Tei, if not a Hong Kong, icon.” -@e_ting

I'd like to feel optimistic about White House Conference on Nutrition in Sept., but guy in charge created this food ranking system:
Frosted Mini Wheats, Lucky charms >> whole egg
Ice cream w/ nuts > ground beef
Honey Nut Cheerios > egg fried in butter
