Sometimes, we forget that it's when special education and general education work together that sets our students up for success.

An important thread. Similarly, I find children are riveted studying how numbers work in this way, e.g. "How many tens in 24? ones? How many ways can we pull it apart?" Developing a relationship with content that students want to continue and build on is a beautiful thing!
Studying the orthography of a language system--how a spoken language is conveyed by an arbitrary set of written symbols--is fascinating and worthy of deep analysis. Teaching our kids to pay close attention to the sounds in words and how they map into patterns is... 🧵

Thanks @ntdelgadillo for inviting us to @CotsenAoT to meet inspiring people with dynamic ideas! Reggio Inspired Math, Provocations from Primary Sources, CGI problem solving, leveraging tech for equity & did someone say 🗣 'Environment as the 3rd Teacher' 🥰😁🥰 #CotsenELC2024

Great idea! I think older students would also love to create these themselves and share with earlier grades.

Bob Dylan lyrics for Fluency. Love it!
Fluency Thursday! Sept 21 is International Peace Day. Here’s a great opportunity for students to read, rehearse, perform (for fluency), & then discuss this song/poem about peace. Also, check out -- youtube.com/watch?v=akGV9Old… @ILAToday @ascd @DyslexiaIDA @reading_league @IMSEOG

🌍 When we ignore differences that are a part of #students' identity, it's like saying, "I don't see you," or "I'm uncomfortable with who you are." Ignoring differences, like race, neurodiversity, language, gender, isn't the route to an #inclusive climate. #LeadInclusion #UDL
