Find me over where the skies are blue! I’m using the same name and have been there nearly-exclusively for a while now. I would recommend others to join up too and phase out your presence here! 🦋💜

Happy #StarTrekDay! In 2016, our Spitzer Space Telescope made a bold discovery in our Milky Way galaxy. These nebulae could be said to resemble two U.S.S. Enterprise ships (1701 and 1701-D). But you tell us. Learn more about this region in our galaxy: go.nasa.gov/3zdztdg

58 years and still going boldy: On this day (Sept 8) in 1966, Star Trek premiered on American network television with the episode, "The Man Trap," written by George Clayton Johnson and created by Gene Roddenberry.

I had a wonderful time at #STLV, and am looking forward to next year! We’ll be at the San Francisco event in January too, since we live right here in SF. If anyone wants to keep in touch, or chat about building costume pieces, I’m more active on Bluesky as @/tracey.science

Wish you were here at #STLV @MikeMcMahanTM! There is such a huge amount of love here for Lower Decks. Our cosplays of Migleemo and T’Ana made it to the cosplay contest finals, and the room started a “lower decks” chant as we came on stage.

We’ve been screaming from the top of our lungs: the antiporn age-verification laws are part of this project. Block “porn” while simultaneously refining everything LGBTQ+ and reproductive health as porn. And yet, sex workers and adult businesses are largely fighting them alone.

Right wing thinkers are circulating a chilling 920 page blueprint for the next President to declare the mere existence of trans people pornographic. These are not cranks, this is the Republican policy establishment.

So… thanks for listening! I wasn’t sure if anyone would pay attention. @corviphagy has been pretty public about it online before, but nobody seemed to ever pay a lot of attention. I was scared to get into it, it’s tough to talk about, but I’m glad I did.

For reference, I started volunteering for FC in an exec capacity starting around 2012. From then onwards, there was always something to do for the con, basically at all times of the year - ramping up until the event which happens in January every year. So the holidays were…

A bright side to no longer working FurCon was that I could finally work on my career and had much better work/life balance. Expectations were very high for the convention, and it often felt like another full time job.

After all that had happened, in 2019 after my year as chair of FC, and after @corviphagy had been abused by a board member, we both offered to answer questions or train up replacements (we still wanted the convention to succeed) but we were met with radio silence.

I really didn’t mean to ramble on. I just didn’t want there to be this perception that I was some kind of puriteen on a crusade of cleanliness or whatever. I am very pro-kink, pro-consent, pro-safety, and maybe a little too idealistic for my own good!
