muse gang, say hi to the boomers on grok bot
Age demographics split: Grok Bot vs. Muse from Meta. Muse is much stronger among users aged 18–34, whereas Grok Bot leads by almost 10% in the 35–44 age group. >>

Some of you may have met my wife. But I'd like to introduce her to you all. Without Evelyn, this event wouldn't be possible. She introduced me to Tesla, and she believed in Elon's vision of autonomous cars long before I ever did. She has stood by me through thick and thin, and she's supported me and this Tesla community in ways many of you will never see. She's my heartbeat and my world. Without her, this community wouldn't be what it is today. Words can't express my gratitude. I thank God for my wife every day. Evelyn is the most selfless person I know. She never does things for credit. She takes care of people quietly, whether it's our family, our friends, or someone she barely knows. And she homeschools our four kids with a patience and love I couldn't match on my best day. This may be news for some of you, but Evelyn has been battling triple-negative breast cancer since August of last year. She has endured chemo, surgery, and radiation, and the fight is not over. There have been days that were painful and days that were frightening, and through every one of them she has stayed kind, held onto her faith, and kept showing up for other people. I am honored to serve her and to walk beside her through this. If you pray, please keep my wife in your prayers. Pray for her healing, her strength, and her peace. It means more to us than you know. Evelyn, you are my greatest blessing. Thank you for everything you do, seen and unseen. I love you. This community is better because of you, and so am I. Proverbs 18:22

Meta built Muse with just 200 people. “The whole executive team, everyone knew that this was probably going to be one of the most important products that Meta would ship this year.” “But we had the restraint organizationally to make sure it was a really small focused team working on it... because we knew it was a single work of art.” “This is even now starting to plague a lot of the AI labs. They become this Frankenstein, almost Cronenberg amalgamation of a bunch of different people's points of view.” “It's sort of like PM hell, where every PM has a thing that they're trying to jam into the product.” “Muse had to be the exact opposite. There's one clear point of view.” — @alexandr_wang

Thrilled to join @khoslaventures and learn from @vkhosla, @SStrohband, @SamirKaul1, @rabois and David, and from all of my amazing new partners, while helping back and build the next generation of world-changing companies. Someone asked me yesterday what success looks like 5 years from now. I think it’ll probably be too early to judge my investment record. But I hope founders will say I was one of the most helpful people around the table, and had a real positive impact on their company. If you’re building in AI, especially AI infra, I’d love to talk! 🚀
Thrilled to announce @TalBroda has joined Khosla Ventures! He’s bringing his experience building AI infrastructure to the founders we back. At OpenAI, he led more than a dozen teams that built and operated the hardware and software serving OpenAI’s models. He helped lead GPT-4.5 training, participated in the development of OpenAI’s first custom inference chip, Jalapeño, and contributed to Stargate. Previously, he headed up platform at Citadel Securities. He’s tackled the infrastructure challenges AI founders face firsthand, and we’re excited to have him in join KV! wsj.com/pro/venture-capital/…

Many of my Republican friends believe the President is in the early stages of cognitive decline based on his erratic behavior. It's extremely hard to tell where the trolling ends and the cognitive decline begins — which is actually tremendously concerning, since we have 28 months left to navigate. Objectively, an 80+ year old starting wars in the Middle East while engaging in a trade war with the most docile, kind ally we have (Canada) is really confounding.

Met a German founder this week and asked him if all the stories one reads about the challenges of startups in Germany are exaggerated. "No, they're understated." Proceeded to describe spending a full day having a 90-page investment contract read to him (mandatory under German law; § 13 BeurkG) by a notary that then charged €30,000. That was for his first company. His second company, needless to say, was not incorporated in Germany.
