BREAKING: The FAA has shut down airspace over the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site, with a notice calling it a “US Government Nuclear Incident," per SRS
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
SRS did not describe the event as a “US Government Nuclear Incident”; that phrasing is from the FAA TFR notice. SRS reported a contained fire with no off-site contamination.

Never thought @DisneyParks rides would break down more than Kings Island, but here we are.
Mickey’s Runaway Railway = shut down mid-ride, had to exit
Ratatouille = shut down mid-ride, had to exit
Spaceship Earth = stalled mid-ride for 10 minutes
Losing some of the magic ngl

That can't use me on high value loads because we have to do 15 loads first to be considered a good carrier for them but we've only done 3. Thats a shitty criteria in my opinion. 🤦♂️

Pepsi paid $2bn for Poppi and now says it won't pay the $300m earnout. Everyone's acting surprised.
What happens when a giant buys a challenger brand, with the receipts:
- Honest Tea, Odwalla, Zico: all bought by Coke, all discontinued. Zico's founder bought it back.
- Bai: Dr Pepper paid $1.7bn, wrote most of it down.
- Bodyarmor: Coke paid $5.6bn, took a $760m impairment three years later.
- Rockstar: Pepsi paid $3.85bn, has lost share every year since.
- Freshly: Nestlé paid $1.5bn, shut it within three years.
- Dollar Shave Club: Unilever paid $1bn, sold it for a fraction seven years later.
- Bonobos: Walmart paid $310m, sold for $75m.
- Mirror: Lululemon paid $500m, wrote it off and shut it.
- Ballast Point: Constellation paid $1bn, sold for pocket change four years on.
- Reebok: Adidas paid $3.8bn, sold for $2.5bn fifteen years later.
- Snapple: Quaker paid $1.7bn in 1994, sold for $300m in 1997. The original.
The pattern isn't bad luck. The brand was bought to protect the original and core portfolio, not to grow. Once it's off the market, the job is done.
If you ever sell to one of these: the cash on day one is the price. Everything else is a promise from someone who is incentivized is not to keep it.

This is going to be some amazing brand recognition for @DenverRayburn. Having been to the factory, I can assure you it’s real. True gamechanger.
I will pay you $1000 if you show us the following:
1. Video of the sweaters being knit in Los Angeles
2. Where the machines are made that make those sweaters via
3. The box holding the cotton thread showing where its made
@fw_automation @JoshuaSteinman @DenverRayburn
My argument wasn't about the sweater, but here's your opportunity to show us all how you're reindustrializing America with a knit sweater.
You've multiple times claimed its profitable at $16, so please tell us:
1. Material cost for the 2XL sweater
2. Rent in Los Angeles
3. Shipping cost
4. Packaging
Again, it's not about the sweater. I'm speaking generally, but if you want to make it about the sweater, show us!
It's cool right?
Sorry forgetting confused for thinking that the $320 sweater was "the real one", which apparently is... made in Portugal? Why are they still selling at $320, but you're sold out by the way? If it's your design, why are you allowing that?
And that "the real one" is sold out for me and has a woman wearing it who is either AI or photoshop or both. What's that about?
It's confusing, so show us, and I'll pay you $1000!

Disgusting. Nasty. Repulsive.
I would 100x rather go back to just 2 teams making it than 24.

Then they came for the product managers and I said "make sure you get all the product managers"

The median household income in Elkhorn, NE, is $131,199 a year. The median home value is $590,000. The median cost of daycare per child is $2,500 a month. (Everyone is free to look this all up.) So at 7.5% mortgage rates, the median income can’t afford the median house and can’t afford the median daycare. That is a problem. Yes, you can find cheaper homes. Yes, you can find cheaper daycare. That’s not the point. If the median can’t afford the median, it’s not sustainable, and something will give. Wages have to go up or home values have to go down or childcare has to get cheaper. It feels like we are on shaky ground.

💻 Was FMCSA's Motus Site Vibe Coded?
Four months after launch, FMCSA's Motus registration platform is still freezing carriers out of their own authority, and compliance consultant Bailey Hoak says the code shows why.
After examining publicly accessible source files, Hoak found stray em dashes, unnatural phrasing like "hydrates" instead of "loading," and revision patterns Hoak calls textbook signs of AI-generated code.
"It's 100%, there's no doubt in my mind that at least the front-end of Motus is AI-assisted," Hoak said. FMCSA didn't respond to CCJ's request for comment.
Support tickets are now taking 45 to 60 days to resolve, long enough to shut down a compliant carrier's business.

Trump is basically going to cause a financial crisis for a lot of universities. It’s very very expensive to run STEM classes and these humanities majors basically subsidize STEM majors. Tuition is going to soar for universities.
Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/NmmAzhf

Coffee-mate Original has no cream in it. The bottle is water, corn syrup solids and soybean oil, and the only dairy is micellar casein, a milk protein, in the under 2% group. It's labeled non-dairy anyway. FDA allows that on a product with casein as long as the ingredient list says it's a milk derivative, and this one does.
The soybean oil is homogenized into droplets small enough to scatter light. That's what makes it white, the same way oil clouds a vinaigrette when you whisk it. The corn syrup solids make it sweet. The casein holds the oil in suspension, so it doesn't separate in hot coffee, and the carrageenan keeps it from separating in the bottle.
The front sometimes says triple churned, a word that comes from turning cream into butter, on a bottle with no cream in it. Soybean oil costs a fraction of what cream does, and it keeps the creamer lactose free. The flavored bottles use sugar in place of corn syrup solids, and some, French Vanilla included, add sucralose and acesulfame potassium on top of it.
