Never thought I’d want a 98 year old boyfriend but this guy is a “hell yes”!

South Australia is only able to generate about half its demand this morning, mostly with gas & rapidly depleting batteries. It is buying coal fired electricity from interstate.
Yep, the renewables poster child is proving that renewable energy sucks & costs a mozza.

Last night I spoke to Chris Kenny on @SkyNewsAust about how the renewable energy transition is turning into a nightmare. In particular, the blowouts in transmission costs, which mean renewables simply cannot be low-cost.

The markets will decide.......make it cheaper than diesel or quit your shit 👍

To replace one 14 litre Cummins diesel engine with a battery electric unit would require a 7.15 mwh battery weighing around 40 tonnes.
To recharge this battery in 6 hours would require about 14000 solar panels & associated infrastructure.
These people are nuts.

Energy independence?
35% of Australia's energy consumption come from oil (mostly imported). Demand is only increasing.

The market decided it was cheaper to import than produce and refine, but that doesn't mean it was the right thing to do for Australia.
She loses the argument because old lefty got caught out. So she blocks. 😆 🤣

Cacao beans have decreased by 300% but represent only 15% of your chocolate. So your chocolate won't get any cheaper for reasons Cori states. The same applies to every product you will now buy. You lefties will soon understand why energy security is important to the economy.
The old I lost the argument because I'm retarded so going to block. @belinduhpyne

Stop showing these monologues and interviews. I want to see all the shots. More golf less talk.
If you could calculate the per capita malinvestment in energy my guess is Australia would be the world leader and not Germany or the UK.

Missed this one did you bud? This is a two and a half year trial done right here in Australia. Do you think it would be parked if it was better? abc.net.au/news/2026-04-02/e…

**“No legal impediment”? Pull the other one, Quentin.**
Australia sits on vast untapped oil reserves yet imports 80-90% of its refined fuel, with strategic stocks at a pathetic 30-40 days — leaving us completely exposed every time global supply hiccups.
The real barriers aren’t “commercial risk” — they’re years of suffocating green tape, duplicated federal and state approvals, endless activist lawsuits, and a policy regime that treats fossil fuel projects like environmental sins while fast-tracking renewables.
Taxpayers are already underwriting the entire energy mess: billions in diesel credits for fossils plus billions more in mandates, guarantees and handouts for renewables. Yet you pearl-clutch at the idea of giving domestic fuel security a fair go?
Rennick isn’t asking for corporate welfare. He’s calling out the ideological sabotage that keeps us dependent on foreign tankers. Your “commercial risk” excuse is just polite code for keep importing while virtue-signalling. National security isn’t optional.
