Really interesting day at The Calling 2026, hearing from top quality speakers and joined by 3000 leaders from across Scotland. Unsurprisingly @chrishoy was inspirational in sharing his stories from sport and life and @mrdanwalker hosted superbly. Exciting times ahead for 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🙏

Many thanks to all teams who supported Saturday’s event and to @AyrUtdAcademy coaches for facilitating. Unstructured play is a key component of child development and it was brilliant to see so many smiling faces in both sessions! ⚽️ 🖤🤍
Around 100 stars of the future graced the Somerset Community pitch on Saturday. The Ayrshire Youth Football League teamed up with Ayr United's Academy to provide 'Come & Play' sessions for budding players. Each youngster taking part also received a free match ticket to the afternoon's game between the Honest Men and Morton. United managing director Graeme Mathie, who is also chair of the AYFL, said: "As a league committee we’ve been discussing how we can provide as many different experiences for as many young people as possible. "AYFL’s Come & Play sessions are all about giving young players the freedom to enjoy football through unstructured play, which is something we’ve probably lost as a sport in recent years as the game has become much more structured and essentially coach led at the youngest ages. "The whole idea is for the kids to play with and against new people and allows them to be creative, make their own decisions and simply enjoy the game. "We’re delighted to be doing it again ahead of the Inverness game and grateful to Ayr United for their support, particularly the AUFA coaches who help bring the sessions to life. "Huge thanks also to league treasurer Grant Ogston for organising and we’ve already had positive feedback from lots of coaches, parents and children involved."

Delighted to be launching this idea from Ruarie Glackin on the AYFL committee, to run league select teams based on physical growth and maturation. We are starting at the 2013 age group. Details are attached for sign up - excited to see how this goes! ⚽️

Brilliant initiative from AUSA – the car park was full all day with a steady stream of men coming in to be tested. Well done and thanks to everyone involved – a hugely important event and a great example of the positive impact supporters are having in our community. 👏⚫️⚪️

Incredible story. Well done to @AyrUtdAcademy & Andy McInnes for using his role to support community programme participants in such an important way. 👏🖤🤍
Never have the @AyrUtdAcademy community programmes had a more dramatic effect. Long-time supporter, Barry Cowan, responded to the urgings of programme co-ordinator Andy McInnes to take a blood test which showed he had prostate cancer. Early detection led to successful treatment and Barry’s delighted that hundreds more men are taking advantage of testing sessions at Somerset later this month. #WeAreUnited

Great that @AyrUnitedFC @AyrUnitedYouth data was used in this article highlighting early exposure to adult football as a key competent for the development of lots of elite players. No easy solution to overcome the challenges discussed but good for the debate to be ongoing. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Few boys are making it at the elite level when they head south young. But the ones who stay in the hope of playing mostly don't either - and it is a steeper drop to part-time football in Scotland. That's why it is a hard sell. You may as well get rich. nytimes.com/athletic/7404182…

Thanks to all at AUSA for providing the fan survey and their support in the fanzone trial. Fingers crossed the weather keeps up and lots of people come and enjoy the numerous pre-match activities at Somerset Park over the coming months! 🖤🤍
A new fanzone for home games, in and around Cameron's Bar, is to be introduced on Saturday and will continue on a trial basis until the end of September. It’s one of the proposals to come out of a fan survey conducted by the Ayr United Supporters Association. More details here from Cally Yorke and Graeme Mathie. #WeAreUnited
