The recent banking troubles had no impact on AltTab beyond giving us a nice opportunity for a USDC trade :) We moved our banking relationship out of Silvergate before the trouble began and now we continue as normal.

If SVB depositors aren’t made whole, then corporate boards will have to insist their companies use two or more of the BIG four banks exclusively. Which will crush smaller banks. AND make the too big to fail problem way worse.  (SVB equity holders are wiped. That’s fine.)

Too busy to tweet. But not to vent. I've been using Venmo for years, but now it won't allow me to make payments. I spent a long time in chat with representatives, and they told me that they can't explain why — or fix it. The software has taken control.

Caroline Ellison is IMO likely a thief, the biggest losing crypto trader ever, and played a part in ruining many lives. HOWEVER, nearly every crypto community I'm in is filled with misogynistic bullshit and body shaming towards her. We can and should do better as a community.

Had some questions about this recently in light of the discovery that FTX apparently had 0 controls on their margin program. When VCs ask "how are they doing so much with so few people" -- it's because they built none of this, which is rarely seen or appreciated until too late.

How does Kraken manage margin risk on its spot exchange? 1/9 Finite resources Kraken has a limited pool of funds available for margin trading. Once that pool of funds is exhausted, subsequent orders calling for use of the margin pool will be canceled. support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/…

Dexes have neither liquidity, nor resting orders, nor the simplicity of centralized exchanges. The most common reason people had 7 figures stuck on ftx is because they did everything right and wanted to buy the bottom. I fucking hate this timeline.
) IMO Silvergate rumors are FUD… The issues around Silvergate are: (1) BTC prices below 16k puts their BTC collateralized loan book under stress; (2) the President and Chief Risk Officer of Silvergate stepped down over the last 48 hours. Both of these claims are false
