SHE BEAT A 3 MONTH OLD PUPPY ON A LIVESTREAM. SHE GETS 10 DAYS. His name is Louie. He's a Maltipoo. On Jan. 29, rapper and Twitch streamer Aspen Easterling, who goes by Aspen Kartier, got angry because he peed on the floor of her Brookhaven, Georgia apartment. She hit him over and over, then lifted him by the skin of his back. You can hear him yelping and whimpering through the whole three minute clip. Prosecutors played it in court. She pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty. A second count was dropped. DeKalb County Judge Alvin Wong gave her 10 days in jail with credit for the 2 she'd already served, plus a year of probation. He said he'd planned on 30 days and changed his mind. He called it "a very, very symbolic punishment." Prosecutors had argued for a stiffer sentence. She can't be around dogs during probation, and Georgia law adds an automatic 5 year pet ban. A South Carolina grand jury just indicted 25 people, and investigators say they pulled 47 dogs out of it. AG Alan Wilson’s office announced “Operation Duffle Bag Boyz” Wednesday, a multi agency investigation centered in Chester and Lancaster counties. 129 counts. Seized, per the AG: 47 dogs, more than 17 pounds of drugs including 2.62 pounds of fentanyl, more than 10,000 fentanyl pills and more than 30 guns. About 4 more pounds of fentanyl and more guns came in during Tuesday’s roundup. Dogfighting counts listed in the indictment: Zion Hairston (17), Nicos Little (17), Devin Mobley (9), Diara Talford (7) and Bobrentay Jackson (5). Chester County Sheriff Max Dorsey says drug trafficking and violent gun crime are inseparable in South Carolina, and they won’t tolerate either. Those 47 dogs didn’t pick any of this.
