the €crat central planners literally sayin' they shouldn't be anywhere near pan-EU central planning responsibility 😂
European Commission sounds the alarm (now !!!) about the number of oil refineries closing in the region over the last 20 years. "We need to counter this trend," says EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen. "This crisis is a wake-up call." Quite.

yeah. this is a long ways from over.
BREAKING: A BALLISTIC MISSILE JUST LANDED AT ADEN AIRPORT. 15 minutes later the Houthis told everyone there to leave. Now. Their reason: a "Saudi military cargo plane" loaded with weapons. Not a stray shot. A named Saudi target, announced in advance. Is Aden the next front?

in the real world, €pols' policies are trashing the €. €/GEL now solidly back under 2.9 headed towards 2.8. think back, look back, read the trash propaganda out of Bruxelles mob leading up to the last elections in GEO, all the idiocy encouraging GEO to join the war vs. RU.

sorry this is a pretty horrible list of safety failures. and absolutely unimaginable to project a similar frequency of serious accidents to occur in CN.
🇪🇸 Spain records at least five fatal high-speed rail accidents in 2026 1) Adamuz rail disaster (January 18) A high-speed Iryo train derailed in Adamuz (Córdoba) on the Madrid–Seville line after a fractured rail weld. Seconds later, a southbound Renfe train slammed into the derailed carriages, killing 46 and injuring 292. 2) Gelida train derailment (January 20) Commuter train hit a collapsed wall damaged by Storm Harry. Trainee driver killed, at least 37 injured. 3) Cartagena train accident (January 22) A passenger train in Cartagena collided with a crane arm on the tracks. Six people were injured. No fatalities. 4) Talavera la Real accident (February 12) Another rail incident in Talavera la Real added further pressure on infrastructure manager Adif. 5) Toledo high-speed collision (October 28) Today’s rear-end collision between an Iryo and a Renfe train on the Madrid-Andalusia line in Toledo has left at least 39 dead and shut down major southbound traffic. At least 86 were killed across the five accidents. Earlier incidents alone injured at least 335 people. Today’s Toledo crash happened on the same line as the January 18 Adamuz disaster. Video from the scene of the deadly Toledo rail collision

Jamie won't be fighting any wars anytime soon. If the sh** ever does hit the fan in the US, no doubt he has backup plan(s) in place in a reinforced spot built into a sheer cliff face, surrounded by hostile militias :-)
Jamie Dimon to a country that pulled its gold out of New York: you have three armies within 400 miles, while gold in America is protected by two oceans and the US military “If we have the strongest military in the world and the strongest economy in the world, we will be the preeminent reserve currency. It is those two things.” “I was in a country somewhere in the Middle East, and also in Europe, and the people said, we took our gold out of the vaults in New York City and moved it to our country. You know what I said to him? I said, you have three armies within 400 miles who can come take your gold.” “That’s the real world. You’re not thinking clearly about safety. That gold is protected by the Atlantic, the Pacific, the United States military, the rule of law.” “But if we are not the preeminent military and economy, you will see our reserve status come down.”

The hands again; anyone who does this much hand & finger movement is a certain mental lightweight. Just also realized -- and this is a compliment just on raw media nous -- The Comedian rarely waves his hands or fingers around. He may be a corrupt grifter but he's a v. smooth one.

ok interesting news. but the tech bros simply can never restrain themselves: "solving all common diseases" right.
Anthropic's is officially steering internal models and compute on solving drug discovery with the goal of solving all rare and common diseases, progress so far is v impressive: - acquired a 1-person medicine startup that created 2 potential treatments for muscular dystrophy (in 18 months!) - on multiple occassions claude not only designed but selected drug designs that ended up testing better than the current cure. insane. - claude cut paperwork down 89% freeing up staff to focus on real research. this saves millions of dollars at scale in big pharma. all of these are pre-clinical now but just imagine where we are 6 months from now when more science labs have access to better models?

What this Mithril deal likely illustrates is that the value of bios who were trying to build some proprietary "mechanistic" knowledge platform from which to generate leads has essentially now been blitzed to zero. Life it abt. timing. Biotech truly is a crap shoot. good luck!
Golden words by @nc_frey - something I've been preaching for the past 3 years. Scaling drug discovery in many areas is the only way to learn. But what really matters is the quality of the program and depth of the data room. At Insilico, we now have 40+ programs with 35 programs past PCC/DC with deep data and even novel mechanisms (eg novel antipain.ai drug) - these are the most valuable data sets and experience in the galaxy. Quality is usually assessed when the pharma buys your drug or when it goes Phase 2/3. You need to sell/progress a few to know how well it works. We are working on a set of tools on Grok Bot that will allow you to go end-to-end for program-level reasoning. And xPharma.ai lead by @sastrycvs, David Berry and others is specializing in end-to-end data rooms. IMHO, frontier labs will be acquiring productive biotech companies at scale in near future. Many of these companies are in China and many need the regulatory approvals to sell so it will be interesting to see how they do it. The biggest frontier AI battle will be in pharma as it is the highest-value and most difficult area of human development. Half-baked scorpion antivenoms make great demos but do not make great drugs. Watch this space as it evolves - it will have a profound effect on your life. In the West, the champions will be @SpaceX and @AnthropicAI and in the East, it will likely be @TencentHunyuan and @Alibaba_Qwen . In the Middle East, it will be @InSilicoMeds . And in Europe... many people will benefit in Europe.

Back in Laos. In Western world's eyes, no doubt a 3rd world spot. In reality a place rapidly emerging from a truly hellish period and moving steadily towards 2nd world status. Increased connectivity to CN is gonna' generate some quite astonishing +ve wealth effects here.

what do u not have here: - open borders - free money for illegal migrants - free money for legal migrants - soft treatment of crims: current policy is if evidence clearly points to guilt then simple deportation; no trial, no passing go, appeals etc. it's certainly not Europe!

Wow.
Asian-Americans in Harvard’s Incoming Class More Than Double, to 43.2 Percent Newly released data on the Harvard College class of 2030 say the class is 43.2 percent Asian-American, a record high and more than double the level when Students for Fair Admissions first sued Harvard alleging racial discrimination in admissions. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2023 that Harvard was unlawfully using race as a factor in admissions. Since then, the numbers of Hispanic and black students in the incoming Harvard classes have dipped, while the numbers of Asian-Americans have soared.

perfect. surely not long before this company is sanctioned by Bruxelles.
A Chinese company uses civil unrest in France as an ad to promote the durability of its glass.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video is news footage of French riots at an LV store filmed by journalist Clément Lanot of CLPRESS, not an ad by a Chinese company. Claims the glass is Chinese-made are unverified viral assertions. unwire.hk/2026/10/21/par… bloompakistan.com/chinese-blast-… shopenauer.com/en/news/louis-…

So the claim here is ca. 50pc of RU military fighting inside UKR has been maimed or killed by UKR drones in 2026. why not round it up to 100pc?
⚡️️ 302,000 Russian soldiers killed or wounded by Ukrainian drones since January, Defense Ministry says. The highest number of casualties Ukrainian drones inflicted on the Russian military was recorded in March, with almost 34,000 soldiers killed or irrecoverably wounded. kyivindependent.com/302-000-…
