Awesome to see high school sports coverage continue around the DC area. No one better than @M_Errigo and @NoahLFerguson to lead that coverage

I always wanted to work with @McJesse and this essay shows why. Take a minute and read it aloud and let Jesse and his dad teach you a thing about art.
My father suffers from PTSD as a result of his time as a 9/11 first responder. Last year while laying in the hospital after an attempt drink himself to death, he told me about a funny thing that happened at Ground Zero.
His story inspired a year-long hunt for a lost piece of art.
I wrote about it for @vulture edited by @megh_wright

I am so sad to report that Roger Simon died early this morning. He had been ill for some months but went peacefully at the end. He was a brilliant journalist, a gifted columnist, the author of many books about presidential campaigns and other things. He was also wickedly funny. He was courageous in the face of adversity that befell him more than a dozen years ago. So much to be admired. He was Chicago born and worked there and in Baltimore before closing out his remarkable career in Washington, lastly at Politico. He and I met as college journalists and he and his wife Marcia became the dearest of friends with my wife Nancy and me for 60 years. I mourn his loss and know so many others will too. RIP, Friend.

The posting for @CNN's campaign embed class of 2028 is up! This is an incredible opportunity for a rising star. You gotta be hungry, scrappy, and willing to put your entire life on hold, but I promise it's the best job you never want to have again.

I followed one family through Trump's patriotic contest and found a remarkable story about our age of suspicion.

In my first story with Kelley French for @washingtonsun, I spoke to the woman pictured in the Metro photo on July 4.
She didn't know she went viral. Her family wants people to know their difficult reality. Please take some time with our story today notus.org/metro/viral-metro-…

It took me 12 years, but I finally wheedled my way into a federal prison for a long sit-down interview with Fat Leonard. The big man had some secrets to tell.

On July 21, 2015, Donald Trump gave out Lindsey Graham's cell phone number on live television. At IJReview, we got in touch with Graham's team and asked to make a video of him destroying cell phones as he would have to 'get a new one.'
If I recall correctly, this got about 100,000,000 views between all the platforms and news coverage in about 48 hours and changed the trajectories of a lot of careers.

What a nice surprise to see my series about Thomas Jefferson on the @washingtonpost home page and that it’s among the most read. This originally published in November as part of a seven part series (my last day at the Post was April 30). Edited by the late great @DanEggenDC
